Considered one of the greatest films of all time, Casablanca turns 80 years old today. The romantic drama came out during the height of World War II. The Producers Guild of America announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Keanu Reeves is said to be the front runner to play Kaneda in Warner Bros. live-action adaptation of Akira. Back in March, we reported that a number of actors such as Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix were being considered to play Kaneda, although it seems the studio is now looking at the 47-year-old Keanu Reeves. The studio has also had trouble casting Kaneda’s best friend, Tetsuo, although our report from March indicated that Robert Pattinson, and Andrew Garfield were in contention to play Tetsuo....

The future of the Tomb Raider movie series will be given a blank slate after MGM has lots the film rights to the video game franchise. The writer-director behind this year’s hit horror outing, Barbarian, has now started work on his next (no doubt terrifying) project. Speaking with ComingSoon.net, filmmaker Zach Cregger revealed that he has now put pen to paper and begun writing the script for his next horror movie, and while he refrains from revealing any details, he does state that he is “feeling very positive” about the idea.
