Allen and Albert Hughes will direct a feature about Mafia hitman Richard “Ice Man” Kuklinski, according to Variety. Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Jason Blum have acquired screen rights to Philip Carlo book “The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer.” At a hulking six-foot-four and 300 pounds, Kuklinski managed to become a prolific contract killer for the Gambino family while keeping his occupation a secret from his wife and three children in New Jersey....

The Princess and the Frog screenwriter Rob Edwards has signed on to write two projects for Warner Bros., Amulet and An Animated American. Amulet is based on the graphic novel by Kazu Kibuishi and follows teenage siblings who discover a world of demons and monsters. They come to realize that they are actually the last in the line of guardians who must keep these creatures at bay with the help of a mystical amulet....

Warner Brothers is making a sequel to their hit tween romantic fantasy A Cinderella Story. According to Variety, Andrew Seeley will be starring in Another Cinderella Story alongside Selena Gomez. The film begins shooting in January. No word if Hilary Duff will be making an appearance. In other casting news, Sherri Shepard has come aboard Lee Daniels’ Push, which also stars Mo’Nique and Lenny Kravitz. The film is currently shooting in New York City....

Angelina Jolie is scheduled to meet with director David O. Russell this week for his latest project, The Silver Linings Playbook, reports Just Jared. Mark Wahlberg is attached to star in the comedy, which will be an adaptation of Matthew Quick’s novel of the same name. Pat Peoples (Mark Wahlberg), the endearing narrator of this touching and funny debut, is down on his luck. The former high school history teacher has just been released from a mental institution and placed in the care of his mother....

Avatar is back in theaters today with an addition nine minutes of never-before-seen footage reinstated back into the original body of the movie. It has also been announced that when the Special Edition versions of the DVD and Blu-ray hit in November, there will be another all-new seven minutes of footage added to what we’ll be seeing this weekend, for a version of Avatar that is a full sixteen-minutes longer than what was formerly released this past December....

The hit animated series Avengers Assemble is now Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest for the fifth season, and we finally have the first trailer. The series puts the focus on Wakanda this time around, with T’Challa and Shuri taking the lead. As for other allies, Iron Man and Captain America are spotted in the trailer, along with some pretty humorous situations with Tony Stark. The action looks intense and King T’Challa seems to get annoyed with just about everything....

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam was set to be part of the summer movie season until Warner Bros. shuffled around all of its upcoming DC films earlier this year. Instead of a July premiere, Black Adam will now show on Oct. 21, which producer Hiram Garcia told TheWrap will allow more time for the post-production process to be completed: As Garcia noted, there are plenty of other films that are in the same boat as Black Adam....

Borat’s Sacha Baron Cohen has confirmed that he will follow up his smash comedy success with Bruno. According to Variety, his next film directly after that will be a remake of the French comedy Le Diner de Cons entitled Dinner for Schmucks. Bruno, like Borat, is based on a character from Sacha’s Da Ali G Show, which originated on the UK’s Channel Four before airing on HBO. Bruno is a gay fashion reporter who interviews and antagonizes members of the fashion world much in the same way that Borat treats his subjects....

On May 2nd we reported that Bryan Singer would be pushing back the Superman Returns sequel past 2010, so he could direct The Mayor of Castro Street, a story of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, after finishing up his current film, Valkyrie.
