The Good This movie takes a refreshing look at a timeless character. The Bad I think it could have been fun to have a 5 to 10 minute featurette focusing on the first Bambi. Bambi II is one of those movies that I found I couldn’t help but like. Not that I didn’t want to, but I tend to think that some people might think that a 32 year old man shouldn’t be too excited about Bambi II....

This reality competition takes five sexy ladies and has them rank themselves in order of attractiveness to match the rankings of a panel of male judges sitting behind a one-way mirror. The art of the sequel is not an easy science. While many franchises have come and gone, so have their awful attempts at creating a new life for a story. Some films (The Matrix, Mad Max) have natural bridges in storytelling when given the right artist with the proper material who has the vision to create a long arching story. The worst sequels (Speed 2, Red 2, G.I. Joe) are cash-grabs to take advantage of an audience desperate to see their favorite characters again, and create nothing but dull cycles in the same old story....

Blockbuster’s bid for its own electronics chain has come to an end. According to Variety, Blockbuster Video has pulled its $1 billion bid for Circuit City, almost six months after it initially made the offer. The rental chain made a bid of $6-$8 per share in mid-February but Blockbuster made it public in April when Circuit City refused to hand over financial data. Blockbuster CEO Jim Keyes said that purchasing the company was now no longer in the company’s best interests, but they will continue to try and spread out to other markets....

The duty of any great piece of art is to force the viewer to confront their own perception and morals in the hopes of making them a more attentive person. If it only entertains, then it hasn’t properly done its job. Even films or programs that appear to have no moral message (Pulp Fiction, Seinfeld, etc.) are rich in storytelling and psychological understanding of how human beings tend to behave, extracting their utility in the way it shows their characters and stories....

Norman Reedus had lined up yet another project to add to his busy schedule. The Walking Dead star is developing Undone by Blood, the Aftershock Comics western series, as a TV show. Reedus is set to serve as an executive producer and likely star in the show. This comes as Reedus recently signed a first-look deal with AMC, extending the scope of their partnership. Undone By Blood is being developed by bigbaldhead, the production company recently founded by Norman Reedus....
Actor Alec Baldwin has now officially been charged with manslaughter following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the western movie, Rust. According to a report via Variety, Baldwin has been charged as both producer and actor on the project, with a statement of probable cause saying that Baldwin should never have aimed the gun at Hutchins. “The first rule of gun safety is never to point a gun at someone you don’t intend on shooting,” reads the statement, which adds that Baldwin failed to undergo “required firearms training prior to the commencement of filming....
Universal is producing a new, wholly original take on the Dracula mythos. This new Vlad the Impaler docudrama will be an origin story. According to Variety, I, Robot director Alex Proyas is set to take the reigns of this updated thriller, entitled Dracula Year Zero. The film is just one of many Vlad projects that are currently in the works at various studios. The script will revolve around a younger Vlad, showing him when he was much more vital....
