Brie Larson is all set to star in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Lessons in Chemistry. In addition, the Captain Marvel actress will serve as an executive producer on the series. The show has been given a straight-to-series order at Apple TV+. Larson is currently training in her home gym in preparation for the long awaited Captain Marvel 2, which will be directed by Nia DaCosta. Lessons in Chemistry is set in the 1960s and based on the upcoming debut novel by Bonnie Garmus....

Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard have signed on Kristen Connolly (Revolutionary Road), Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek), Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz (The Village) and Jesse Williams (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2) for their genre-bending horror film Cabin in the Woods. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the United Artists film had already cast Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford. The genre-tweaking screenplay was written by Whedon, who is producing, and Goddard, who is directing....

Minds Eye Entertainment has picked up the rights to the Canadian comic book Superhero Captain Canuck from writer/creator Richard Comely, as announced today by Kevin DeWalt, CEO and President of Minds Eye. Working closely with Comely, Minds Eye is currently in development on a film adaptation based on the comic book series. The first issue of Captain Canuck hit newsstands in May 1975. Thirty-six years later, the superhero franchise has garnered fans around the world....

Sunday is family day at Comic-Con, and this year for the first time, Warner Bros. Entertainment will partner with Time Warner sister company Cartoon Network on a daylong “booth takeover” initiative. On Sunday, July 24, at Comic-Con International: San Diego, the Warner Bros. booth - with its distinctive 30-foot tall replica of the iconic Warner Bros. water tower - will transform overnight into the Cartoon Network booth to create a fun, family friendly environment designed just for kids....

According to Variety, Joan Of Arcadia creator Barbara Hall is back at CBS, which has greenlit a pilot from her based on the comicbook Ultra. CBS also has ordered the supernatural pilot The Way, from scribe Adam Kulakow and exec producer Michael De Luca. And over at ABC, that net has picked up two drama pilots with a U.S. government bent, Twenty Questions and A House Divided. Ultra, from CBS Paramount Network TV, revolves around a female superhero who must contend with saving the world while pursuing a life as a single girl in the city....

In the last decade, the TV series format has massively grown towards any direction possible. In some ways it has even surpassed movies, with a large number of filmmakers becoming showrunners and TV directors. There have been a few cases of a complete shift to this world, one which was considered “less professional” in the past (director Mike Flanagan is a case in point). Some viewers were hesitant at first, but now they seem to be more welcoming than ever, likely as a consequence of streaming services emulating the formula of big film studios....

There are many gaps to be filled in around the MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again series. Having returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Charlie Cox is now ready to start filming on his massive 18-episode series that will complete his Marvel return. Like many fans, the actor seems to be in the dark about what exactly will happen in Daredevil: Born Again, but he had high hopes of seeing some MCU cameos in the series....

FX has released the first trailer for the final season of Justified, which teases a tense showdown between Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and his longtime nemesis Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). Dubbed “Hat Trick,” the teaser shows a man who appears to be Raylan, in his trademark cowboy hat, until Raylan himself shows up behind the man, pointing his gun at none other than Boyd Givens, who playfully gives Raylan his hat back....

While it might seem obvious to go onto one of the other MCU superhero Disney + shows if you liked Moon Knight, the truth is that the show is rather unique compared to other Marvel TV series thus far. Indeed, it’s this somewhat disconnected status from the MCU that makes it unique in the context of more recent Marvel shows. While Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye are technically within the Marvel canon that Moon Knight occupies, they have a radically different tone and style....
