TV Guide Network has signed Ananda Lewis (The Ananda Lewis Show) as host of the upcoming ten-episode reality competition series, America’s Next Producer and David Hill (FOX Sports Television Group) and Matt Roush (TV Guide magazine) as the series’ resident judges. Rounding out the three-judge panel each week will be a celebrity guest. Ms. Lewis is an award-winning broadcast personality whose years on-air with BET, MTV and The Ananda Lewis Show have earned her recognition from her peers and the adoration of a worldwide fan base....

Warner Bros.’s new 3D project Gravity has tumbled back to earth after Angelina Jolie passed on the project, which could put an indefinite hold on the movie. This news comes from Deadline New York. It was reported that Angelina Jolie had actually passed on the Alfonso Cuarón project twice, the first time when the project was at Universal, and then again just recently, with the movie now at Warner Bros. Heat Vision is reporting that Dimension’s Scream 4 is rounding out its cast by adding Lake Bell and putting out offers to Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin for key starring roles. Scream 4 reunites director Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who wrote the script for 1996’s Scream. The story brings back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment....

Aubrey Plaza reportedly had fun on set, pranking her castmates, while filming the second season of The White Lotus. According to Entertainment Weekly, Plaza went to great lengths to set up elaborate rouse in castmate Adam Dimurro’s dressing room. Plaza constructed creepy occult-like symbols with reed diffusers reminiscent of ones from the iconic 1999 horror movie, The Blair Witch Project. To throw her co-stars off her trail, Plaza constructed the symbols in her own dressing room as well, played along, and pretended she was just as spooked as DiMurro was....

The ongoing production of HBO Max’s Batgirl has teased yet another reference to the DCEU, further establishing its evident connection to the ongoing lore of the DC’s shared cinematic continuity. A photo taken on the film’s set suggests that Lex Luthor, the arch-nemesis of Superman and former head of Lex Corp., is still in prison. It’s an image of a magazine cover that claims to account for an exclusive interview from Luthor and his efforts to appeal his sentencing, thus, establishing that the conglomerate-turned-maniac is still fighting his case....

Ralph Hinkley won’t be flying into movie theatres anytime soon, it seems. Eric Christian Olsen, who had been attached to play Hinkley in the film adaptation of The Greatest American Hero told Moviehole that while he was attached to the film, financial issues have put the film on the back burner, and taken him away from the role. “I booked that movie”, Olsen said, “I went in for it right after Fired Up....

Summit Entertainment has confirmed that Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, based on the fourth novel in author Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg, and will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Wyck Godfrey, no_personKaren Rosenfelt, and Stephanie Meyer will produce the project. “Bringing Stephanie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn to the screen requires a graceful and intelligent hand and we believe Bill Condon is exactly the right steward, having shown equal and abundant talents of immense creativity and subtle sensitivity,” said Erik Feig, President of Production and Acquisitions, for Summit Entertainment....

Days ahead of the release of the anticipated sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, director Ryan Coogler is opening up on his relationship with late actor Chadwick Boseman. In 2020, Boseman died during pre-production on the sequel which was originally intended to bring back the actor to play T’Challa. The story was rewritten from scratch following Boseman’s death in a way that honors the beloved performer along with his character. Ahead of the film’s arrival, a tie-in podcast was launched to provide Marvel fans with more behind-the-scenes insight....

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) has announced the nominees for the 16th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. The winners will be announced at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards ceremony on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. This year’s event will again take place at the Hollywood Palladium. This is the fourth year in a row that VH1 will broadcast the gala live on the network and the first year the show will also be broadcast internationally....

Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña has revealed that not only has he seen the superhero suit he’ll be wearing in the upcoming DC flick Blue Beetle, but he has even tried it on. Development on the movie, which will see the young actor take up the mantle of the Blue Beetle for the character’s silver screen debut, is now underway, though, according to Maridueña, who discussed the movie recently with USA Today, the costume designers are hoping he will put on some timber before leaping into action....

Alison Brie has apologized for voicing the role of Diane Nguyen on the Netflix animated series Bojack Horseman, now saying she regrets taking on the part. Between 2014 and 2020, Brie had co-starred with Will Arnett by voicing BoJack’s friend Diane, a human Vietnamese-American character. Amid reports of many white voice actors stepping down from portraying non-white characters on various animated shows, Brie took to Instagram to release a statement of her own pertaining to her role as Diane Nguyen....

The mayor of Albuquerque is just as stoked as the fans to see statues erected in the city honoring Breaking Bad. On July 29, several members of the cast and creatives from Breaking Bad and its spinoff series Better Call Saul were present for the unveiling of the statues of Bryan Cranston’s Walter White and Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman. Both Cranston and Paul had traveled back to ABQ for the occasion alongside Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris (Hank Schrader) and Better Call Saul’s Michael Mando (Nacho Varga), Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin), and Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler)....

Brett Ratner has signed on to direct Youngblood, an adaption of Rob Liefeld’s iconic graphic novel for the Indian media conglomerate, Reliance Big Entertainment, which just acquired rights to the novel. According to Variety, Reliance inked a development deal with Ratner’s shingle Rat Entertainment, as well as Julia Roberts’ Red Om Films, during the Berlin film fest. The company paid mid six figures for the rights to Youngblood, about a superhero team sanctioned and overseen by the U....
