Actress Alaina Huffman is best known to fans for her role as crime fighter Dinah Lance, otherwise known as the fishnet-wearing badass Black Canary, on the CW’s hit series Smallville. The actress recently joined the cast of another long running fantasy franchise, Stargate Universe, a new series set in the extremely popular Stargate world where she plays Lt. Tamara Johansen. We recently had a chance to sit down with the busy actress to talk about her new show, which is currently finishing airing it’s first season on SyFy and has already been picked up for a second season....

The widow of Marc Davis, the creator of Cruella de Vil, talks about her fond memories of this film Alice Davis has a lot of history with the Disney studio. Her late husband, Marc Davis, was the creator of Cruella de Vil, one of the most memorable villains in movie history. Alice herself was also named a Disney Legend for her contributions to the studio. WWE Superstar Ricochet wore ring gear inspired by Batman Beyond for the company’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event Sunday night, and lead voice actor Will Friedle has taken notice. On the wrestling show, Ricochet wore full-body tights which were red and black in color with a familiar red bat symbol on the chest. While the mask was the only thing missing, the outfit was clearly modeled after the popular cartoon character, and now Friedle - who voiced the new version of Batman on the animated series - is calling out the wrestler in a new post on Twitter....

Bad news, Dirk Gently. And bad news for those who worked on the show, because they’re going to need to find a new gig. Following the Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency season 2 finale, it’s been announced that BBC America will not renew the show. So those hoping to see Dirk Gently season 3 next year are out of luck. Probably. Here’s what BBC America had to say about the decision to cancel the show in a statement....

Donna Douglas, who is best known for playing Ellie May Clampett on the hit 1960s TV series The Beverly Hillbillies, passed away yesterday at the age of 81. The actress passed at her Louisiana home on Thursday, with friends and family members at her side, which was confirmed by her granddaughter to TMZ. The actress appeared in all nine seasons of The Beverly Hillbillies, including a 1981 reunion TV movie....

Doctor Sheldon Cooper is about to go toe-to-toe with the one and only Doctor Emmet Brown in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory. That’s right, the hit CBS series is bringing in Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd for a premium guest role. Though, his character is being kept a secret for the time being. It isn’t known if this upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory Season 10 will tie into or crossover with any Back to the Future lore....

The acclaimed HBO drama series Big Love will return for its fifth and final season Sunday, January 16th, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “It has been an honor and pleasure to work with series creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer on this unique and provocative series, and I’m happy that they will be able to bring the story to its close the way they always envisioned,” noted Michael Lombardo....

The cast of Bob’s Burgers is down a voice after Jay Johnston was reportedly fired from the animated series. According to The Daily Beast, Johnston had allegedly been spotted in photographs of unidentified rioters at the riot that took place at the Capitol on Jan. 6. The outlet reports that high-level execs have “banned” Johnston from the series, meaning he will no longer voice Jimmy Pesto Sr. on the hit comedy show....

Sleeper Hits? Whoop-doo! For the fifth time today, someone’s asked what this summer’s sleeper hit is going to be. And I realized: I don’t know what a sleeper hit is, really. Sure, I work for a movie site. And I should know these types of age old buzz words. A sleeper certainly wouldn’t be X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It’s all over the place.(literally). What about Star Trek? Sci-Fi shitheads and summer film aficionados certainly want to see it....

PREDICTED WEEKEND BOX OFFICE Last week the Liam Neeson action-thriller Unknown surprised everyone by debuting at number one with $21.7 million. The film beat out fellow newcomers I Am Number Four and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, as well as former number one Just Go with It to take the top spot at the box office. But with two new films premiering this weekend including the new Owen Wilson comedy Hall Pass, and the 3D action film Drive Angry starring Nicolas Cage, it’s likely that we will be crowning a new box office king before the weekend is over....

The domestic box office is on a hot streak as it continues to recover from the impacts the peak of the pandemic had on the film industry. According to box office tracking site The Numbers, the combined gross of this past weekend’s top ten films was more than $100 million, the ninth straight weekend with those types of numbers. The last time the box office had a run that long was the fall of 2019, beginning in October with Joker’s $96 million opening weekend....

When season one of Bridgerton premiered on Netflix in 2020, it instantly became a global phenomenon. At the time of its release, it was actually the most-watched original series debut on the platform. Based on the book series by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton focuses on the noble Bridgerton family in Regency-era London. It’s a historical romance/drama series complete with an amazing cast, a playlist-worthy soundtrack, and incredible costumes and visuals. Each season focuses on one of the Bridgerton children reaching marriageable age and entering society — and there are eight Bridgerton kids....

We know that Bruce Campbell will be appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but the big question that fans will have to wait to see answered is who the actor will be playing.
