Despite having some cultural issues, Disney’s animated version of Aladdin is still one of the most loved and most iconic movies of a generation. As the film hits its 30th anniversary, the film’s screenplay writer and director John Musker has said that Robin Williams is without doubt the reason behind the popularity and longevity of Aladdin. Released in 1992, Aladdin formed part of Disney’s renaissance for their Animated Classics. The story of “street rat” Aladdin who discovers a magic lamp and the wish-granting genie that is trapped inside comes with all of the usual Disney peril and humor, as well as a blistering soundtrack of toe-tapping songs, many of which feature the vocals of Williams in full character mode....

Fuller House might be over, but cast members Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who respectively played lifelong best friends DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, will soon be reunited on a set once again. Per Deadline, it has just been announced that Barber has boarded the cast of Great American Family’s original holiday film Candace Cameron Bure Presents: Christmas on Candy Cane Lane. Barber will be starring alongside Dan Payne (Virgin River)....

Animal Crossing is a franchise of video games that began in 2001. The player is a human who lives in a village of anthropomorphic animals. Aside from a brilliant director and script, it also benefits from a fabulous cast. The brash Boston-based gangster romp saw a number of actors on the cusp of legendary status, including Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Leonardo DiCaprio, sharing the screen with true icons of cinema like Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, and Ray Winston....

In terms of movies, the 1980s were full of incredible works. Bob Saget is still there for his former Full House co-star Lori Loughlin after the latter did time for her involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal. At the end of December, Loughlin was released from prison after serving a two-month sentence. Many have criticized the sentence as being too short, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star and fellow sitcom actor Janet Hubert. Naturally, other cast members from Full House and its spinoff Fuller House have consistently been asked about Loughlin’s alleged crime and subsequent prison time ever since the news first broke....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain, an art house weepie about two star-crossed ranch hands already appears to be crossing over into mainstream hit status. Budgeted at an estimated $14 million, the film, which is playing in only 683 theaters nationwide, has grossed a projected $32 million as of Monday. And now its embrace by the 84 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. before a nationwide TV audience should allow Focus to further broaden the movie’s release into the heartland....

Tim Burton undoubtedly has a style that is unique to him. His tales of fantasy, monsters, and superheroes have been delighting audiences for decades. His movies introduced us to original characters, and his dark, gothic stories make him one of the best filmmakers in the business. His frequent collaborators including Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and composer Danny Elfman prove that many of the biggest talents in Hollywood are always looking for an excuse to work on a Tim Burton film....

The Good A very well made documentary. The Bad No extra scenes on the disc I was sent. I used to catch the tail end of bowling games when boxing was on free TV on the weekends. As boxing has been basically relegated (and thrived) on cable, I no longer got to check out the sport but I don’t think I would ever describe bowling as boring. To me, there is something inherently interesting in whether or not the ball is going to take down all the pins or just most of them....
