Sundance recently revealed the first look of its upcoming drama Call Jane starring Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver, and Kate Mara in lead roles. The drama focuses on a traditional housewife who joins the Jane Collective, an underground service in Chicago, Illinois providing women with access to safe abortions. Banks plays a housewife named Joy, a married woman with an unwanted pregnancy living in America before Roe v. Wade. Call Jane is directed by Phyllis Nagy and written by Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi....

The CBS series Ghost Whisperer, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim and Christoph Sanders, will celebrate its 100th episode on Friday, March 5 at 8 PM ET on CBS. Elvis director Baz Lurhmann has offered some insight into his approach to telling the story of the King of Rock and Roll, describing it as a “superhero film.” While appearing at CinemaCon 2022, Lurhmann called Elvis Presley the “original superhero,” likening his climb to the top and the trials and tribulations therein to the journey of a Marvel or DC character. Due for release later this year, Elvis chronicles the life and career of singer and actor Elvis Presley (Austin Butler), beginning the tale from his early days as a child to becoming a rock and roll and movie star....

ABC has issued back-nine orders for freshman comedy shows The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife, while ordering four more episodes of Super Fun Night. The network also announced that it isn’t ordering any more episodes of Back in the Game, which won’t be pulled from ABC’s Wednesday night line-up, but will end after its initial 13-episode order. It isn’t known what may replace the series after it goes off the air at this time....

AMC announced today pilot orders for scripted dramas Halt & Catch Fire and Turn. Production on both is scheduled for 2013. FX has rolled out four new trailers for American Horror Story: Freak Show, which shines a spotlight on more of the unique characters that fans will see this season.
