Alec Baldwin made a rare public appearance at the Boulder International Film Festival where he spent some time speaking about what happened on the set of Rust back in October. At the time, Baldwin, a producer and star of the film, had been preparing for a scene in which his character would draw his weapon from his holster. At one point, the gun fired off a live round which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza....

The Good The Bad Okay, I just don’t see what the big deal is. I guess it might have something to do with the level of betrayal on this show, or the fact that Jennifer Garner is really something to look at, or it might even be the fact that this show is heavily dominated by women, but I honestly don’t know what the big deal with this show is. Having never watched a single solitary episode of Alias, coming in on Alias - The Complete Fourth Season probably wasn’t the best thing to do....

AMC and Fox Television Studios (FTVS) announced today a new deal which will return The Killing to AMC for a third season. As part of the deal, Veena Cabreros Sud returns as executive producer, writer and showrunner along with actors Mireille Enos (Sarah Linden) and Joel Kinnaman (Stephen Holder). Season 3 will focus on a new case, which will be resolved over the course of 12 episodes. Production on season three begins February 25th in Vancouver....

Amy Ryan is a highly accomplished actor who has continuously proven her talents in her film and television performances. She is a dynamic actor with a sheer emotional range. Ryan earned an Academy Award nomination for her brilliant performance as a drug addicted mother in Ben Affleck’s movie Gone Baby Gone. With that performance, she proved that she is perfectly capable of taking on darker roles. Fox Searchlight has proven to be one of the most active distributors at the Sundance Film Festival by acquiring its fourth title, Another Earth. Mike Cahill directed the drama from a script he co-wrote with star Brit Marling. The story centers on Brit Marling’s character, an ambitious MIT astrophysics student who kills a man’s family in a car accident after she leaned out of the car window to take a look at a newly-discovered planet....

Mad Max: Fury Road actress Charlize Theron did an excellent job portraying her character in the initial installment of the rebooted franchise. Now, Anya Taylor-Joy is set to take over the role in the upcoming prequel titled Furiosa. However, Taylor-Joy didn’t consult Theron while shooting the prequel—but that’s okay in her book. Taylor-Joy is taking the torch of Theron’s Imperator Furiosa for the upcoming prequel, but the star of 2015’s action-packed Fury Road tells The Hollywood Reporter that she understands why the new Furiosa might not have wanted to reach out....

A new magical adventure is coming to Apple TV+ in the future. Their second animated feature, Spellbound, will follow Elian (Rachel Zegler) as she tries to save her kingdom and defend her family. Deadline confirmed Rachel Zegler would voice the lead role in April. Additional cast members, including Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, and John Lithgow, were announced in June. The film will be directed by Vicky Jenson, with a script by Lauren Hynek (Mulan), Elizabeth Martin (The Christmas Ball), and Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Maleficent)....

Austrian Oak and Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger is joining forces with streaming giant Netflix for an as-yet untitled spy adventure series. The legendary action star will both star in and executive produce the show, which will mark Schwarzenegger’s first time ever as a regular on a scripted television series. Schwarzenegger putting his name to a television series is a pretty big deal and shows just how much the medium has changed over the last few decades thanks to the emergence of streaming....

Master of disaster Roland Emmerich is being sought to direct the live-action video game adaptation Asteroids for Universal Pictures. A mega-iconic video game from 1979, this Atari shooter followed the simple premise of a triangle shooting at large moving objects and UFOs. Transformers: Dark of the Moon’s Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing this new venture with a script from Race to Witch Mountain’s Matt Lopez. The storyline of Asteroids will take place after the destruction of Earth, and could be seen as a thematic follow-up to Roland Emmerich’s previous sci-fi destruction epics Independence Day and 2012, which depict the decimation of our planet....

Earlier this year, actor Austin Butler portrayed the late King of Rock’ n’ Roll in the Baz Luhrmann’s film Elvis. Butler’s performance earned him plenty of praise from critics, but according to the star, preparing for his role as the iconic singer took a heavy toll on the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor. Recently, during an interview with Janelle Monáe for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Butler revealed the surprising methods that he followed in order to portray Elvis Presley....

After appearing in Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut Lady Bird, her popularity exploded to new levels. The King of Queens cast will reunite for a virtual table read in honor of Jerry Stiller, and the late actor’s son Ben Stiller will be stepping in to perform his father’s lines. Hosted by Sony Pictures Television, the special charity event has been put together to raise money and awareness for New York City health care and arts organization Henry Street Settlement. Jerry, who played Arthur Sooner on the popular comedy series, passed away from natural causes last year at the age of 92....
