Fans of the franchise may not be holding their breath just yet, but new word on the long-gestating reboot of The Crow is that a new director and lead star are now on board. Deadline reports that Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) is set to direct a new reimagining of The Crow with a script from Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard). Bill Skarsgard (It: Part One & Two, Castle Rock) is also set to star as Eric Draven, the role originally played by Brandon Lee, with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter FKA twigs co-starring....

Billy Eichner is back on the street for the first Billy on the Street video in three years. While the series no longer airs as an episodic television program, Eichner has kept the show going with new videos posted online, though the latest one was in late 2019. Warner Bros. has unveiled a brand new look at their upcoming animated feature Batman: Hush. We reported last week that Smallville’s upcoming 10th season will be its last season and now it seems that the creators of the series have found a new TV gig. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are writing a new reboot of Charlie’s Angels for ABC. Gough and Millar will replace Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) who was initially set to write and executive produce the pilot, which we first reported on back in November....

FX has ordered the next book of the award-winning miniseries American Horror Story, picking up 13 hours of a new miniseries from Twentieth Century Fox Television, it was announced today by John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks. Production of the untitled AHS will begin next summer and premiere in the fall of 2013. Anderson Cooper, anchor of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360˚, will contribute as many as five reports a year to CBS News’ 60 Minutes, television’s number one news program, it was announced today by Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports, and Jon Klein, President, CNN/U.S. The appointment is effective at the start of the 2006-07 television season. The arrangement also allows for a one-time rebroadcast of Cooper’s reports on his CNN program....

Netflix has continued its string of successful original series with Archive 81. Developed by Rebecca Sonnenshine, Archive 81 was able to hold the number 1 show stop on the US Netflix top 10 and received strong reviews after its recent premier. The series had little promotion and has performed exceptionally well against strong competition on the streaming platform. Archive 81 uses found VHS style footage to switch between two timelines: the 1990s when the tapes were originally filmed, and present day when the found tapes are being restored by Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie, who has recently been cast in the hugely popular Jurassic World franchise)....

A sexually assaulted waitress joins a group of female vigilantes that target violent and chauvinistic men. Asking For It is an ultra-stylized take on the effects of toxic masculinity. Sexual predators get their comeuppance from bad-ass women who are out for blood. The film’s themes are laudable. But the plot’s execution feels like a TikTok video on meth. A non-stop barrage of quick-cut edits, still frames, jumbled imagery and a pounding soundtrack become bewildering....

After finding success in theaters with even more praising the film following its streaming debut on HBO Max, could we see an extended cut of Elvis be released? Not anytime soon, if ever, according to director Baz Luhrmann. The film, starring Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker alongside Austin Butler as Elvis Presley, drew a lot of praise with its release, even garnering some early Oscar buzz.
