The Good A great show finally gets its proper DVD release. The Bad Shows were a tad too overly compressed in parts.Bonanza: Season One - Volume One features Ben Cartwright and his boys Adam, Hoss and Little Joe as they battle claim jumpers, lynch mobs, and other nefarious sorts as they defend the area of land they own called the Ponderosa. This show always features rich acting performances, solid storylines that resonate today and production values that make each episode appear to be its own mini-western movie....

PREDICTED WEEKEND BOX OFFICE There were no real surprises at the box office last weekend as the only major new release, the highly anticipated fourth chapter of the popular Resident Evil series, Resident Evil: Afterlife dominated with $27.7 million. It will have a hard time repeating that success this weekend, despite some of the best reviews in the franchise’s history, with four new films including director Ben Affleck’s second effort The Town and the much-talked-about high school film Easy a entering the competition....

The Good Fun filled extras that young kids will probably enjoy. The Bad Johnny Depp’s Wonka and Danny Elfman’ score gave me a toothache. I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory a lot more when I saw it over the summer. I don’t know why this is but I just found that the movie didn’t “sit” well with me on my second viewing. I don’t know what I was expecting, I just found this film to be very disjointed....

3:10 to Yuma, Lionsgate’s new Western, was originally scheduled to open on October 5th, 2007. According to Variety, it will now open a full month ahead of schedule, on September 7th, 2007. The film is beating Brad Pitt’s western The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford to the screen. Lionsgate’s Tom Ortenberg stated, “We certainly wanted to be the first Western in the marketplace. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have climbed aboard to write the script for Robotech, Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the anime classic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The original Robotech was a 1980s cartoon series from Harmony Gold USA and Tatsunoko Prods. It was re-edited and re-dialogued to combine three Japanese anime series to give the producers enough episodes to air as a daily syndicated series. A sprawling sci-fi epic, Robotech takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific isle....
