Universal Pictures is finalizing a deal with John Orloff (Anonymous) to pen the Battlestar Galactica remake. Here’s what the writer had to say about joining this sci-fi project. This movie will be a theatrical remake of the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica TV series, and not the more recent Battlestar Galactica reboot, which aired on Syfy. The show focuses on a space ship containing some of the last surviving humans, as they try to find their way back to Earth....

Comedy Centrals’s Reel Comedy: Tropic Thunder, hosted by comedian Paul F. Tompkins, is visiting the set of Tropic Thunder for an exclusive tour with the film’s star and director, Ben Stiller, according to Yahoo. Stiller will show Tompkins why the middle of the Hawaiian jungle is a great substitute for Southeast Asia, as well as a perfect spot to blow things up. Is Ben Stiller’s directing career taking a dramatic turn? According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Trial of the Chicago 7 “DreamWorks project about the 1968 riots at the Democratic convention and their aftermath” is on the fast track and the funnyman is in talks to direct the project for the studio. The talks with Stiller are currently in “the exploratory stage” as “the newly configured” DreamWorks and the actor are talking about whether this cinematic pairing would work for both parties....

Avenger Anthony Mackie has his sights set on another iconic character aside from Captain America, with the Marvel actor hoping for a role in any upcoming Thundercats live-action adaptation. Speaking with Men’s Journal, Mackie declared his love for the 1980s animated series, stating that he has planted his flag in the role of Panthro, the gruff, noble, nunchuck-wielding warrior.
