Currently, the Rotten Tomatoes score for Rings of Power is steeply divided between critics and audiences. For critics, the show has a certified fresh score of 84%, while the average audience score is at a low 34%. Early reviews were favorable for the show, with critics generally saying that the show had a promising start and setup. But now that the episodes are out in the wild, it’s not quite as clear whether the average viewer or fan is feeling the same....

The Good This show is a great update on Archie Bunker. Terrific writing and stories. The Bad Only 13 episodes but I guess that’s all they had, right? While at first American Dad might just seem like the exhaust from the beloved, Family Guy TV show, all they need to do is watch thirty seconds of this show to realize that that assessment is way off. The only thing these shows share is the same vitality and gift for hilarious writing....

American Horror Story: Freak Show comes to a close this week with the season finale “Curtain Call”. Many fans are already look forward to what the season may focus on next. During FX’s TCA Winter Tour presentation this weekend, FX CEO John Landgraf revealed that he does know the premise of Season 5, teasing that it will be a “large reinvention” of the entire series. Yesterday, we reported that pop icon Mariah Carey has signed on as a new judge on American Idol for Season 12. There is still one vacancy left to fill at the judges table, that may be filled by country music star Brad Paisley. Fox is reportedly “seriously considering” the singer, although it isn’t known if an offer has been made yet. Brad Paisley has performed on the show before, and has relationships with past American Idol winners Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery, both of whom are country singers....

While walking around the open sets, which included the home of Jules (Courteney Cox) and Gray’s Pub and Grill, I had to chuckle when I saw a number of “penny cans” (insert appropriate, high-pitched pronunciation) set up, with wine glasses filled to the brim with pennies, but more on that later. The first cast member I ran into was Dan Byrd, who plays Jules’ sardonic son Travis. While they are on the same sound stages with a nearly identical writing staff, the actor revealed the biggest difference in being on TBS is having a network that actually wants them there....

The late legend Betty White may no longer be with us, but the celebration of her birthday will go on in a very special way in her hometown. Almost a full century ago, White was born in the village of Oak Park, Illinois. Though she moved to California as an infant, the Golden Girls star always spoke highly of Oak Park and would continue to visit relatives in the area over the years....

Kaley Cuoco of DC Universe’s upcoming Harley Quinn animated series has shared a teaser poster of the show on Instagram, confirming the tentative release date for this fall. With her trademark bat in tow and blood splattering through the air, the image shows Harley as she appears on the series, with a look inspired by Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the character in Suicide Squad. The excessive blood coupled with the crazed look in Harley’s eyes suggest this will not be a kid-friendly cartoon, targeting the more mature DC fans....

The embedded Blu-Ray player on Sony’s PlayStation 3 console may have been the determining factor in the format war victory over HD DVD, but a new report suggests they shouldn’t put all their BD eggs in the PS3 basket. According to Next-Gen Biz, the Blu-Ray market is dominated by the PS3 player and the studios should be leery of that. “The studios better hope that people are playing movies on their PlayStations,” said ABI Research analyst Steve Wilson....
