The Golden Globes were handed out last night, with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honoring the best that movies and TV have to offer. Netflix has just released the trailer for Black Mirror Season 5, which also reveals the official premiere date for the new episodes. According to the trailer’s description, the season will consist of “three new stories about the future we should have seen coming.” Also unveiled in the trailer is the season’s release date, confirming the episodes will be streaming on Netflix June 5. As you would expect, it’s hard to gleam what exactly will happen in the episodes, but there will clearly be a focus on modern technology....

Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in Twilight as well as the upcoming release of The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will start filming in Vancouver this coming August....

Paramount and Marvel Entertainment’s Captain America: The First Avenger got off to a strong start in midnight runs, grossing $4 million as it debuted in 2,000 theaters. Netflix has announced the Castlevania season 2 premiere date. The streaming service found themselves a big hit last year with the first season of Castlevania, which not only gave them a bump in the anime department, but also proved to be one of the best video game adaptations ever, by most accounts. Now, as revealed at Anime Expo, which is currently taking place in Los Angeles, the second season of the series will drop on October 26....

The kitchen has chemistry in the excellent remake of Mostly Martha No Reservations is a small film that will take you completely by surprise. I was shocked by how much I liked this film. The trailers, all the advertising in fact, make the film look like the standard crap date movie. Nothing could be further than the truth. No Reservations is beautifully acted. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart sell themselves as chefs falling in love and coping with grief....

CBS today announced it will make its highly-rated reality series Survivor available for download on CBS.com after its Thursday, Feb. 2 premiere (shortly after 12:00 midnight, EST/9:00 PM PT). “This is a first in network television,” said Leslie Moonves, President and CEO, CBS Corporation. “Never before has primetime hit programming been available for a fee on a wholly-owned website. It’s been our strategy to exploit content across as many platforms as possible, and putting this hugely popular series online is a natural fit....

SYFY and Universal Cable Productions (UCP) have released the first trailer for the upcoming season of Channel Zero. This third installment of Channel Zero will be titled Butcher’s Block and will air in early 2018. Creator Nick Antosca will return as executive producer, showrunner and writer for the third installment alongside executive producer Max Landis with UCP as the studio. Arkasha Stevenson will direct. The second installment of the horror anthology series, Channel Zero: No End House, wrapped up its run back in late October....

Today brings about some sad news to pass along, as the legendary wrestling superstar “King” Harley Race has reportedly passed away. Widely regarded by longtime wrestling fans as one of the best performers and promoters of all time, Race’s passing was officially confirmed on the official WWE website. The iconic wrestler had been in and out of the hospital for various health issues over the past several years, and fellow legend Ric Flair had announced a few months back Race had been diagnosed with terminal cancer....

Often, when actors reach a certain level of notoriety, they no longer have to audition in the traditional sense. When they’re well enough known, casting directors, producers, and directors will already be aware of their abilities, which renders an audition somewhat redundant. In this case, actors may be offered a role that fits their skills out of nowhere, or they may sit down with the director or producers to discuss the role and see what they have in mind for it....

To deliver the best performance possible, some actors decide to do as much work as they possibly can. Whether it’s researching a historical figure, or living the life of a fictional character as best as possible, actors go to great lengths to deliver strong and believable performances. Dave Franco, the actor-writer brother of James Franco, has joined the cast of Fox’s remake 21 Jump Street as a villain. The actor will play Eric, the most popular kid in high school who also happens to be a drug dealer. Jonah Hill’s undercover cop character befriends Eric in order to bust his drug operation. Channing Tatum and Ice Cube also star in 21 Jump Street. We reported yesterday that Rob Riggle will play another villain in the reboot, which follows a group of undercover cops who infiltrate a high school to stop crime....

Video games almost always rely on voice acting to bring a wide array of stories to life, and sometimes, they utilize the talents of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Earlier today, we reported that Netflix decided to use today’s Inauguration Day festivities to release the first trailer for House of Cards Season 5. They weren’t the only TV show to address the day’s events in the nation’s capitol, where Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. The hit Comedy Central series Broad City took a much different approach, with a new video that shows how creators/stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer reacted just minutes before the Inauguration ceremony took place....

At least three of ABC’s new Wednesday night comedies will be sticking around for the entire season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has given full season orders to Modern Family, Cougar Town and The Middle. All three shows air on the network’s Wednesday night comedy block, with Modern Family, one of the standouts of the new season, and Cougar Town performing impressively in the 9-10 PM hour. While The Middle’s ratings aren’t quite as high at the 8:30 PM slot, the shows ratings continue to improve on its lead-in from the fourth new series, Hank....

In 2009, a small indie movie titled Adventureland was released. It was Greg Mottola’s next movie after Superbad. He told The Independent Critic that “Adventureland was a more autobiographical story of his experiences in the ’80s, working one summer in the park.” The movie had an incredible cast, and was nominated for the Gotham Independent Film Awards for Best Ensemble Cast Award. In the thirteen years since the movie, the cast, full of young actors, has done very well for themselves....
