WEEKEND BOX OFFICE Last week, the third chapter of the popular Meet the Parents series Little Fockers debuted at number one at the box office and earned an estimated $34 million. Also opening last week was the Coen Brother’s True Grit, which came in close behind with $25.6 million. With only a few small films opening this week in limited release, the box office looks basically the same as it did last week with very little movement on the charts....

Brett Ratner will direct and executive produce Fox’s comedy pilot Cop House, which also signed on cast members Rachael Harris and Ajay Naidu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christine Baranski is already set as a regular and Chris Noth tp guest star on CBS’ drama pilot The Good Wife, while David Wilson Barnes has landed a lead on CBS’ drama Eastman’s. 20th TV’s Cop House is set at a halfway house for troubled cops....

The latest season of the hit Showtime series Californication: The Third Season will be released on DVD on November 9. We don’t have any pricing details as of yet and it doesn’t seem that this film will include any bonus features, except two bonus episodes of The Tudors. After the success of this summer’s Marvel blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger, it was only a matter of time before a sequel was announced. It seems Marvel is planning on moving forward with Captain America 2, although it may hit theaters later than expected, according to star Chris Evans. The nominations for the 25th Anniversary Spirit Awards were announced earlier today in Los Angeles. Celebrating the best in Independent film, the ceremony will take place on March 5th in Downtown LA, and they will be broadcast at 8:00 pm PST on IFC. The Spartans reign supreme in high-def. The first annual High-Def Disc Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, and 300 was the big winner of the night. The 300: Blu-Ray disc took home the High-Def Title of the Year, and it also won for Best Bonus Feature for its bluescreen picture-in-picture extra on the HD DVD version of the movie. It was the only film to win multiple awards from the 11 categories and it was also the only movie to be released in both HD DVD and Blu-Ray formats among the nominated discs....

MODOK is set to come back to the screen soon after his attempt to make it as an animated series in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The character, whose name is an acronym for Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing, first appeared in Tales of Suspense #93-94 in 1967 and became a recurring foe for Captain America, created by the popular duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. After various appearances in comics, video games, and series, MODOK will return to the screen played by Corey Stoll, who gave life to Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, in the first Ant-Man movie....

Jason Momoa shocked DC fans recently when he announced that Ben Affleck would return as Batman/Bruce Wayne in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
