Hazbin Hotel’s Twitter account recently posted the first glimpse of Lucifer Morningstar, King of Hell. He is the father of the show’s leading character, Charlie. Lucifer appears in the tweet wearing a white tuxedo and sitting on a red-and-black throne decorated with feathers and scary-looking eyes. Additionally, he is surrounded by a pile of rubber ducks and brightly colored lights. A24 plans to turn the viral YouTube series into a full-fledged television show....

Alan Rickman is getting in touch in touch with his musical self. In a story from Screen Daily, the actor is set to play Judge Turpin in Tim Burton’s big screen version of Sweeney Todd. In the film, Johnny Depp will star as the titular Demon Barber of Fleet Street from the award-winning Stephen Sondheim musical thriller. The Broadway production of Sweeney Todd, with Sondheim’s music and lyrics and a book by Hugh Wheeler based on the play by Christopher Bond, opened in 1979 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical....

Marvel fans are known for getting a little overexcited at times, and the wave of elation that many are riding at the moment on the back of the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home is one that has everyone even more expectant than normal. When Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man stunt double made a comment online in response to a fan congratulating him on “getting the call for ASM3” thanking them for their words, the Marvel fan base erupted in a webby explosion of belief that Andrew Garfield was finally getting his own solo Spider-Man movie, probably in Sony’s universe to face Tom Hardy’s Venom....

Adult Swim and Warner Home Video will release Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters For DVD on August 14th. The movie played theatrically on 800+ screens across the US and received critical acclaim, despite the lack of plot lines and poor animation. A full 80-minute alternate movie, in addition to the theatrical release, will be included in the two-disc set which will retail for $29.98. “Amazingly, fans keep watching and buying anything Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” said creator Dave Willis....

It took a legendary character to take out a gangster in home video. Beowulf debuted atop both the DVD sales and rental charts in the week ending March 2. The Robert Zemeckis film overtook last weekend’s double-winner, American Gangster, which slipped to second place in both charts. Beowulf didn’t get much competition from other newcomers. 30 Days of Night opened in fourth place on the sales charts and the straight-to-DVD Barbie Mariposa took sixth on the sales charts....

Many horror filmmakers today will claim they were inspired by the slasher classics of the ’80s. Freddy, Jason, and Michael all have an influence of some kind on many modern horror movies. With September days away, the fall television line-ups will bring a surprising change to streaming channels. According to VSN, streaming platforms are returning to the classic linear release format over releasing an entire season at once. HBO Max and Disney+ are at the forefront of this return to the classic format with one episode being released every week on a specific day. Though Disney+ has been doing this for some time, with HBO Max following suit increasingly, the fall TV premieres and their viewing numbers should be interesting....

The episode opens up with an illicit deal going on. Someone is offering huge amounts of money for “the List”, while Jonas, Jae and the Berkut group are spying on the transaction. Once the cash is on the table, the seller pulls out a gun and shoots the buyer....

Academy President Tom Sherak announced today that Academy Award-winner Brian Grazer will join Don Mischer as a producer of the 84th Annual Academy Awards. This will be the first time Grazer has produced the Oscar telecast. “Brian Grazer is a renowned filmmaker who over the past 25 years has produced a diverse and extraordinary body of work,” said Sherak. “He will certainly bring his tremendous talent, creativity and relationships to the Oscars....

Brad Pitt leads a wickedly funny ensemble in a high-octane actioner loaded with twists. Adapted from the 2010 Japanese novel by Kōtarō Isaka, Bullet Train has a bevy of disparate assassins manipulated by a mysterious criminal mastermind. Stuntman turned action director, David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde), stays true to form with unrelenting bloody and flamboyant violence. The codenamed characters get downright verbose before beating, stabbing, and shooting each other to bits....

Hot off the record-breaking ratings for the fourth-season premiere last week, Showtime is picking up a fifth season of Californication, it was announced today by Showtime Networks President of Entertainment David Nevins. 12 new episodes of the hit comedy series will go into production this spring. Californication ’s fourth season premiere delivered its best-ever premiere with over a million total viewers for the night. The series follows the exploits of writer Hank Moody (David Duchovny in his Golden Globe(R) Award-winning and SAG Award-nominated role) as he works to balance his career, ex-girlfriend, daughter and hedonistic vices....

Three and a half decades later, some of the cast members are celebrating the 35th anniversary of the classic sitcom Full House. Premiering on ABC on Sept. 22, 1987, the comedy series was created by Jeff Franklin. It follows a widower who enlists two close friends to help him raise three daughters in a San Francisco home. The show aired for eight seasons before ending its run in 1995 though it later returned for a five-season sequel series, Fuller House, on Netflix....

MGM Studios has handed out a March 15, 2013 release date for their upcoming Carrie remake. As of now, the only other movie occupying that date is the Relativity Media comedy 21 and Over starring Miles Teller. We reported a few weeks ago that Chloe Moretz will play the title role in this horror remake, as the tormented young girl who uses her supernatural abilities to get revenge on those classmates who made fun of her....
