The classic game show Hollywood Squares is getting a country music-based reboot on CMT, as the new iteration Nashville Squares will begin airing on the network November 1. Hosted by actor and comedian Bob Saget, the new series will pit actors, musicians, and other celebrities in the spotlight, both as contestants and square-fillers. The game will consist of the same format as the original Hollywood Squares, which is basically playing tic-tac-toe by answering questions correctly, though it will have a particular focus on country music....

RottenTomatoes recently caught up with Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) in which the actor proclaimed that Superman will actually be doing some fighting in the upcoming Superman Returns sequel, a factor many fans were displeased with in the film… “Bryan [Singer] said at Comic-Con they were going to add some more fighting elements and stuff like that,” said Routh. “That might be kind of interesting to throw some punches or throw something, I don’t know, a little more active....

Brie Larson has come in for a fair amount of online trolling for her role as Captain Marvel, but the actress recently revealed that one of her biggest fears in joining the MCU was that she might not be able to keep up with the physically demanding needs of the franchise. Making her debut in 2019, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel divided audience opinions but delivered a mighty $1 billion-plus box office and mostly positive critical reviews, and it gave Larson the confidence that she was doing something right....

While there have been rumors of a third National Treasure movie being in development since National Treasure: Book of Secrets came out in 2007, last year saw the announcement that we are also getting a National Treasure TV series heading to Disney+. While a new movie in the Nicolas Cage franchise has been stuck in development hell for well over a decade, a new behind-the-scenes image has already shown that the TV series will not be suffering the same fate....

Showtime has ordered more episodes of the hit David Duchovny series Californication. According to Variety, the pay cable network has okayed a second season for the freshman sitcom. A total of twelve more episodes are set to go into production starting in April of 2008. The show has continued to add viewers since its debut this summer. Californication has scored the best ratings for a Showtime original series since 2004....

The sex workers create their own family for acceptance and protection. They band together against the inherent dangers of their seedy profession; which unfortunately opens them to an insidious threat. Their abuse, subjugation, and need for friendship adds depth to grisly losses. The richly developed characters carry the film when it devolves to standard horror tropes....

Actress Carey Mulligan, fresh off the critically-acclaimed Drive, has lined up starring roles with Inside Llewyn Davis and the Untitled Spike Jonze Project. Joel Coen and Ethan Coen are writing and directing Inside Llewyn Davis, which stars Oscar Isaac. The story is based on the life of folk musician Dave van Ronk, and centers on a folk artist struggling to make it in the 1960s music scene. It isn’t known what role Carey Mulligan, or if she will be required to sing....

Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), the series’ main character, was excellent in a duel, but he was also competent in a contest of wits when necessary. Harry Potter has been completed for more than ten years, but they still inspire family movie evenings and ongoing debates over whether the movies or the books are superior. Oprah Daily even published an article in 2020 detailing all the differences between the books and films....

The new Netflix series 1899 is now available to binge-watch. The show was made by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the same creators of another hit show from the streaming service: the mind-blowing and time-bending masterpiece that is the three seasons of Dark. As it happens in their previous story, this one gets quite puzzling after a while. With a big ensemble cast where everyone has secrets, there is not a single minute that the viewer can stop paying attention to if they want to understand the story....

Los Angeles Times has posted an article about how 20th Century Fox is looking to develop a “Silver Surfer” spinoff, in order to satisfy the Fantastic Four fans who feel the movie franchise is too tame. Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer is rated PG and the studio would like to create a similar film which deals with more edgier subject matter: Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer arrives in theatres on June 15....

Michael Gambon, Leslie Bibb, Colm Meaney and Theresa Randle have boarded the Film Department thriller Law Abiding Citizen. They join previously cast Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx in the F. Gary Gray-directed vigilante movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Longest Yard screenwriter Sheldon Turner recently came on to do production work on the script as the film chugs toward its Jan. 21 start date in Philadelphia. Law Abiding Citizen is set in motion when a district attorney orchestrates a plea bargain that sets free the killers of another man’s family....

The trailer for the final season of Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events has been released. It was revealed back in February of this year that Season 3 would be the last season of the hit show, which tackles books 9 through 13 by Lemony Snicket, aka Daniel Handler. Neil Patrick Harris said that the show would not go on for a fourth season and will not deviate from the original stories, which more than likely bummed out some fans of the show while making others happy that it won’t stray too far from the source material....

After taking on another Marvel role with Sony’s upcoming Kraven the Hunter, could Aaron Taylor-Johnson be joining another major franchise by suiting up as 007? According to filmmaker Gurinder Chadha, who previously worked with Taylor-Johnson early in the actor’s career, that’s exactly what needs to happen. As it stands, no one has yet been cast to play James Bond following Daniel Craig’s retirement from the role, but with another movie inevitable, the next 007 will be named soon enough....

Relativity Media announced today that it has acquired worldwide rights to market and distribute Bandito Brothers’ Act of Valor. The groundbreaking film is an intense action-thriller which showcases an elite group of active duty Navy SEALs and co-stars Roselyn Sanchez (Rush Hour 2) and Emilio Rivera (Traffic). The studio is targeting a 2012 release date.
