Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler has teased a connection between the new Marvel recruit Riri Williams aka Ironheart, due to be played in the sequel by Dominique Thorne, and Robert Downey Jr.’s iconic Avenger Tony Stark aka Iron Man. On Christmas day last year, Shondaland debuted the freshman season of Bridgerton on Netflix, delivering one of the streamer’s most popular shows in years. In honor of the one-year anniversary of its arrival, Shondaland and Netflix announced the premiere date for the next season on Christmas. Today Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ended the court-ordered conservatorship that had granted Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, control over her estate and decisions made both in her professional and personal life. Britney Spears was not present, but her parents were there virtually for the proceedings. Jamie Spears had held this power of conservatorship since 2008. Dexter, the critically acclaimed drama series about a serial killer, which recently completed its second season on sister cable network SHOWTIME, makes an unprecedented appearance on network television when it premieres Sunday, Feb. 17 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Dexter’s move to CBS marks the first time a full season of a premium cable drama series will make the transition to network television. Dexter’s 12-episode first season will be edited for network television and will be broadcast on 12 consecutive Sundays....

The spinoff of A Quiet Place films has received an official title. The film, which is set as a prequel to the first film, will be titled A Quiet Place: Day One. The film will tell a different story and will be set in a different setting of the world now invaded by a threatening intergalactic species. The spinoff will not feature Emily Blunt’s Evelyn Abbott and her family, thus, focusing on a different set of characters affected by the global invasion....

Gentleman Jack has been canceled at HBO after two seasons. Created by Sally Wainwright (Last Tango in Halifax, Scott & Bailey), Gentleman Jack is a historical drama series based on the works of famous English industrialist and diarist Anne Lister, also regarded as “the first modern lesbian.” Gentleman Jack stars Suranne Jones as Anne Lister and Sophie Rundle as her love interest, Ann Walker. The show premiered in 2019 to widespread critical acclaim and was a hit with the viewers as well, but unfortunately, season two failed to pull in the same numbers as season one....

2022 was an incredible year for science-fiction, mostly thanks to technology.
