Avatar: The Last Airbender made its debut on the streaming service over the summer and has been a new binge-watching obsession for animation fans. Even as the company released a bunch of original programming in recent months, the series proved to be one of the biggest hits of the summer for Netflix. Now, those who enjoyed the adventures of Aang can enjoy the sequel series as well in the not-too-distant future....

A behind-the-scenes look at the now-canceled Batgirl movie reveals another look at The Whale star Brendan Fraser as the DC supervillain, Firefly. Revealed courtesy of Batgirl lead Leslie Grace, who took to Instagram to share a montage of her 2022 experience, there are several glimpses at the Batgirl solo outing, with one clip revealing Grace choking out Fraser’s bad guy. Brendan Fraser’s casting in Batgirl caused a stir last year, and while we have previously seen some behind the scene stills of The Mummy actor in character, a new set video has revealed Fraser’s Firefly character causing some fiery mayhem in Gotham City. In the last week, filming on Batgirl has been happening in Scotland in the U.K. and that has led to a number of new images for the cast and crew on and around set, as well as the first good look at Leslie Grace’s titular heroine....

Columbia Pictures sent out a press-release today announcing the start of production on Bond 22: Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions Ltd, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios announced the start of principal photography on the eagerly anticipated 22nd James Bond adventure. Daniel Craig reprises his role as 007 in the film which is directed by Marc Forster and follows the success of Casino Royale, the latest and highest grossing film in the series....

PREDICTED WEEKEND BOX OFFICE Last week Tron: Legacy dominated the box office earning $43.6 million in its debut, but with a production budget of nearly $170 million, many are considering that a disappointing opening weekend total. With three new films opening on Wednesday this week, just in time for the Christmas holiday, including Ben Stiller’s Little Fockers, the Coen Brother’s True Grit and Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black, it’s doubtful that Tron: Legacy will be number one for a second week in a row....

However, “new” may not be the right word, as much of the content is based on already existing properties. Captain America: New World Order will be the legacy of Steve Rogers and all he went through in his duty to defend the world. The film features Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America while also passing on his Falcon wings to Joaquin Torres. This means New World Order, owing to its title, will take the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a whole revitalized geo-political setting. Though the film is to feature a new story with Sam Wilson trying to set in his newfound duties, it will not leave behind the plot points we witnessed in its predecessor film Captain America: Civil War....

Catherine Zeta-Jones has just picked up her next big role. Variety reports that Zeta-Jones has joined the cast of the upcoming National Treasure series that’s in development at Disney+. It was previously announced that the series would star Lisette Alexis in the lead with the cast also including Zuri Reed, Jordan Rodrigues, Antonio Cipriano, Jake Austin Walker, and Lyndon Smith. The National Treasure series is not a reimagining as it’s described as a continuation series....

Fridging in film occurs when a character is killed off, usually early in the film, only to help further the storyline of the main character. In many cases, and traditionally, we have unfortunately seen women in movies getting fridged in order to help build up a male character who is often portrayed as a hero of some sort. It’s not always a woman getting fridged of course, but more often than not it sure seems to be....

In a bit of conveniently timed, yet surely well-planned bit of marketing, Netflix has announced a sequel to A Christmas Prince. The sequel, titled The Royal Wedding, which is already in production in Romania, will likely arrive this winter, similar to the release strategy implemented for the first holiday flick. However, the company no doubt saw the opportunity to capitalize on the actual royal wedding taking place between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this weekend....

Alan Ruck (Spin City) has climbed aboard Drive, the Fox pilot centering on an illegal cross-country road race. Ruck will play John on Drive, which has been described as a fictional “The Amazing Race” on acid.
