Grant spoke to the AP, along with her co-star and on-screen rival, Masi Oka, who plays the time-travelling Hiro. Oka describes Grant’s Daphne as the Joker to Hiro’s Batman. “Her character is supposed to be Hiro’s Joker,” Oka says. “Batman has The Joker. Hiro has Daphne. This is the season where Hiro finally finds his arch nemesis, and it happens to be this Speedster....

Charlbi Dean has tragically passed away from an unexpected illness, according to reports from Deadline. The South African actress who began her career as a fashion model influencer was a rising star in Hollywood after lending herself to a few projects. Her rep tells The Hollywood Reporter Dean died of a sudden illness Monday at a hospital in New York City at 32 years old. Dean was best known for playing Syonide, a recurring character on The CW’s Black Lightning, a DC-comic-based series....

Actor Austin St. John has found himself in trouble with the feds this week. The actor, aged 47, was picked up at his home Thursday morning for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. If convicted, St. John can face 20 years in federal prison. Fox Television’s top-rated series 24 is secure for three more years, as its star Kiefer Sutherland has signed an 8-figure deal to continue with the show through May 2009. The deal makes Sutherland one of the highest-paid drama actors on television. Variety reports that as part of Sutherland’s new contract, he will establish a production company on the 20th Century Fox lot in Los Angeles to produce series programming for both broadcast and cable networks....

The Good John Lithgow is as good with comedy as he is with drama. The Bad I just wish I “got” this show more. Having never watched an episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun in my life, I have to admit that I probably shouldn’t have started in the third season of this show. The deadly accident that occurred last month on the set of Rust has Alec Baldwin suggesting a big change for gun safety on movie and TV productions moving forward. While preparing to shoot a scene for the Western movie, a gun Baldwin was holding had discharged what police say was a “live round,” killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Police are actively investigating the incident to determine what happened as other filmmakers are already employing new safety measures when dealing with firearms....
