Cartoon Network has released the first trailer for Beware the Batman, which debuts Season 1 later this year, although a specific premiere date has not been announced yet. This animated series will feature Batman cleaning up the streets of Gotham with his samurai-wielding sidekick Katana, as they face such villains as Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Check it out. A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form....

Netflix has released the official trailer for the new two-part documentary film Bill Russell: Legend. Set to start streaming on Feb. 8, the doc explores the life of Russell on and off the court, detailing how the NBA legend also “changed more than the game” with his work as a civil rights activist. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Dominique Thorne has further teased a connection between her new Marvel superhero Riri Williams aka Ironheart and Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. While she was careful not to give away too many details, Thorne revealed that links between the pair will continue into the upcoming Ironheart Disney+ series. While sticking to the secretive nature of Marvel Studios, Thorne did reveal during her chat with Comicbook.com that both Riri Williams and Tony Stark share an overwhelming sense of ambition — with that ambition leading them both to build suits of armor....

While out promoting his latest directorial effort World’s Greatest Dad, comedian Bobcat Goldthwait revealed in an interview with Chud that he wants to turn the Kink’s album Schoolboys in Disgrace into a theatrical musical. At this current moment, Goldthwait is finishing up a script about a “spree killer”. Once that film is complete, he will go to work on Schoolboys in Disgrace. The Good A great show that sadly wasn’t given the time on TV that it needed. The Bad Paltry extras features. In Bosom Buddies: The Second Season Kip Wilson (Tom Hanks) and Henry Desmond (Peter Scolari) must still pretend to be Buffy and Hildegard in order to stay in the all women’s hotel that they currently reside in. Things are different this season as Kip and Henry have started their own commercial production business, Kip has gotten Sonny (Donna Dixon) to be his girl, and the new hotel manager makes them stay on their toes otherwise they will be outed and then evicted!...

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan recently spoke about a potential Breaking Bad spin-off centering on Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman, which we first reported on in April. Although AMC hasn’t officially greenlit the series yet, the writer-producer is still working on the story, and is trying to decided whether it will be a prequel or a sequel to Breaking Bad. Vince Gilligan is currently editing the last four episodes of Breaking Bad, which we reported in April will return to close out the final season on Sunday, August 11th....

Heat Vision reports that Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) is taking a trip with Walt Disney’s John Carter of Mars. Andrew Stanton is directing the project, which will start shooting next week. Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter first appeared in 1911’s “A Princess of Mars,” the first Burroughs novel set on the fictionalized version of Mars. Carter encounters both formidable alien creatures resembling the beasts of ancient myth and various humanoids and finds his true calling in life as a warrior-savior of the planet’s inhabitants....

The 1986 classic The Hitcher celebrated its 35th anniversary last year, and fans are finally getting a brand new 4k and Blu-ray release to celebrate. Second Sight Films, who has recently brought other classic movies into the 21st century, such as George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, announced last year that The Hitcher would be joining their list of upcoming Blu-ray releases. The film’s writer Eric Red also teased the upcoming upgrade, but at the time, it was revealed that due to circumstances – which essentially came down to the inability to obtain the original negative of the movie – a 4K restoration would not be possible....

Fox has just hired Fringe’s Alex Graves to direct the pilot episode of Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova, the high-concept series picked up for midseason by the studio. According to Hollywood Insider, the drama centers on a family 100 years in the future that travels back to the prehistoric era. The project received a 13-episode commitment from Fox and filming will likely begin in Australia at the end of the summer....

If we needed any more proof that The Dark Knight had changed the landscape of superhero films coming out of Warner Brothers and DC Comics, we have it now, thanks to director/writer David Goyer. In an interview with IESB.net, Goyer said that all DC property films are currently on hold.
