The New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau (OSHA) has completed its investigation into the deadly accident that occurred on the set of the film Rust in October 2021. Taking to social media, producer and star Alec Baldwin released a statement announcing that OSHA’s findings “exonerate” him of wrongdoing in this situation. It was concluded in OSHA’s report that Baldwin believed that the prop gun given to him was loaded with dummy rounds and the actor hadn’t personally violated protocol....

The Walt Disney Company is acquiring a portion of 21st Century Fox that was put up for sale by the Murdoch family and the ramifications are going to be huge for the entertainment industry. The $52.4 billion all-stock deal was announced earlier today, but had been rumored for weeks. The news comes after Disney announced its plans to start its own streaming service, which has now just acquired a bunch of new movies and TV shows that will now more than likely be exclusive to the new streaming service....

According to Variety, “Amityville Horror” helmer Andrew Douglas will next turn his attention to Screen Gems’ horror pic “Priest,” which is being produced by Mike De Luca, Sam Raimi and Josh Donen. Production is scheduled to start this summer. Scripted by Cory Goodman, the pic is based on Tokyopop’s graphic novel created by Min-Woo Hyung. The story is a vampire Western that concerns a warrior priest who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a priestess to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped his niece....

Anya Taylor-Joy is well known for her role in Netflix’s award-winning series The Queen’s Gambit. Her voice will also be heard in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie as Princess Peach. Modern Luxury San Diego recently interviewed the actress about how she prepared for the role, including how the character influenced her to begin playing video games. Despite not being a gamer before getting the part, she became a dedicated fan after researching the movie....

Earlier this week, Sony accidentally released a digital version of the in-theaters film Armored, making the Nimrod Antal-directed film available as a free digital download for about five hours at the PlayStation Store, according to Afterdawn. Once Sony caught wind, they removed the Armored download, but the film resurfaced later on some viral sites. Since this is a pretty ridiculous oversight on behald of Sony, is it safe to assume this to be a marketing stunt to try to contend with box office favorite Avatar?...

Today, we have our first look at the actress in costume from her debut episode “Vendetta”, airing Wednesday, November 28 at 8 PM ET. We finally have a release date for the first half of the last season of Sci Fi Channel’s incredibly popular series on DVD. TV Shows on DVD is reporting that Battlestar Galactica Season 4.0 will hit DVD shelves on January 6, 2009. There is no cover art as of yet and a Blu-ray version has not been announced yet either, but this four-disc set will include all 10 episodes of the first half of the fourth season, and will contain Battlestar Galactica: Razor in both the broadcast version and the unrated extended edition....

Musical theater is truly spectacular, and when it’s put on the screen, makes for some emotional and occasionally heartbreaking stories. But most of all, they can create beautiful cinema. There have been an array of amazing musical movies given to us over the years, and the 90s also seemed to delve into animation, bringing us a magical atmosphere and drama to the screen. As the 90s was a brilliant and magical time for musical movies, there are obviously a bevy of films which are great but aren’t included here (Nightmare Before Christmas, Anastasia, That Thing You Do, Selena, Everyone Says I Love You, and films which are difficult to classify as pure musicals, like The Doors, Velvet Goldmine, Buena Vista Social Club, or Singles)....

Peter Bogdanovich passed away on January 6, 2022, but his legacy will surely live on, mediated by the moving images he so loved. Bogdanovich was simply one of the best directors of the past sixty years; this is less a subjective opinion than it is a fact, at this point. Taking his time with each of his 17 pictures over the span of nearly five decades, Bogdanovich not only directed some of the greatest American films of all time, but was a unique champion of cinema through his support, restoration work, and critical commentaries....

Both James Brown and John Lennon had uncompromising stances on a fairer world, and restoring power to the common man, as well as having released songs entitled “Power to the People,” and through his movies, Ken Loach manages to achieve these politically-driven, socialist messages by empowering the subjects of his films with the same never-say-die, “stick it to the establishment” philosophy....

June has been a great month for Disney+. The family-friendly streamer saw the birth of a new superhero in Ms. Marvel and the return of one of the greatest Jedi masters there ever was with Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Marvel catalog also gained an important new addition when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrived on June 22 after a little over a month in theaters. Big things are always happening on the world’s happiest streaming service, and the fun certainly continues in July 2022....

We haven’t heard much regarding Bill & Ted 3 in the last few months, except for a few tweets from Alex Winter in March where he revealed the script is ready and that they are awaiting a green light. Today we have news that Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) has signed on to direct, so a greenlight might be closer then we think. Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, the writing team behind Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, wrote the screenplay for this third adventure....

HBO has given the green light to another season of Barry. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the acclaimed hitman drama has been officially renewed for season 4. The news comes partway through its third season with HBO execs pleased with the show’s continued success. HBO Programming Executive VP Amy Gravitt also confirmed the renewal with a statement that you can read below. This early renewal means that production can start more quickly on the fourth season....
