Tragic news today, as celebrated actor Ray Liotta has died at age 67. The actor, best known for his role as real-life gangster Henry Hill in director Martin Scorsese’s iconic 1990s mob flick, Goodfellas, sadly passed away in his sleep. According to a report courtesy of Deadline, Liotta died while in the Dominican Republic, where he had been shooting the upcoming movie Dangerous Waters. Unfortunately, no more details have been released....
Julie Taymor has gathered a handful of cast for her big-screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original play centers on Prospero, an exiled duke-turned-sorcerer, but Taymor – who likes to take an experimental approach to her stage and film projects – has rechristened the lead character Prospera so that Helen Mirren can take on the role. Mirren will be surrounded by Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou, Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Ben Wishaw and Felicity Jones....

While seen by many as a simple show that was too “goody two shoes” for it’s own good, there is a lot of spark and spunk to the writing that keeps you on your toes....
