Jeffrey Donovan is set to direct the upcoming Burn Notice movie starring Bruce Campbell. Shooting will begin in January on location in Bogota, Columbia. The two-hour movie will air on USA Network in Spring 2011. The prequel, set in late 2005, begins after a faction of Colombian rebels makes trouble for the locally stationed military platoon, with Lieutenant Commander Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) being sent down to advise. As the mission unfolds, Sam begins to uncover the dark secrets of the area, learning the truth about sacrifice, deception, and ultimately what’s worth fighting for....

America has talent, and NBC’s new series America’s Got Talent is in hot pursuit of it as executive producers Simon Cowell (American Idol) and Ken Warwick (American Idol and FremantleMedia) announced today the multiple-city casting search for the most talented person in America. The legendary Cowell is looking for the next big discovery at the open calls for the series that will premiere this summer, and will make a special appearance at the casting search kickoff in Los Angeles on April 6....

There continues to be some debate over whether Charlie Cox has returned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the same Matt Murdock from the previous Daredevil series that spanned three seasons at Netflix. He is unbowed when his family tries to dissuade him from making the long trip from Montana to Nebraska to cash in his winnings. So his estranged 20-something son-who doesn’t believe the ticket is a winner-is forced to go along with him for the ride to keep him out of trouble, providing an opportunity to bond with his father after years of separation....

Day 11 of the ongoing Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial revealed startling facts about the Aquaman star’s promised donation to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). In 2016, Amber Heard accused the Pirates of the Caribbean star of abusing her throughout their relationship. Depp denies the allegations. The pair eventually divorced, and Heard pledged to donate her entire $7 million divorce settlement to two charities: the ACLU and the CHLA....

It was just yesterday that we passed along the shocking news that Robert Kirkman’s 15-year zombie comic book saga The Walking Dead is coming to an end with today’s oversized 71-page final issue #193. And now we have word that AMC has commented on the comic ending and they say that the comic coming to an end will not impact their hit TV show based on the series. In a statement, AMC Networks said this about The Waling Dead comic book ending....

HBO Max has ordered more And Just Like That…, the new series that serves as a continuation of Sex and the City. Premiering on HBO Max last year, And Just Like That… was pretty well-received by fans of the original show, a feat that is certainly not always guaranteed when revisiting popular franchises from years past. There had been rumors of an imminent renewal, and now it’s been made official with the streamer announcing the spinoff will be back for season 2....

Anna Sorokin—also known as fake German heiress Anna Delvey—is speaking out about Rachel Williams’ lawsuit against Netflix, and it appears she has minimal sympathy for her former friend. Williams formally filed against the streamer for defamation on Monday over her portrayal in Inventing Anna, claiming that Netflix “made a deliberate decision” to portray her as a “greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative and opportunistic person.” Williams, a former Vanity Fair staffer, befriended Sorokin in 2018 and was later allegedly conned into racking up $62,000 on a corporate credit card when the two took a trip to Morocco....

The upcoming Marvel sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is far from an Avengers ‘palate cleanser,’ says producer Stephen Broussard. Speaking with Total Film, who have also released a new image of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang alongside his daughter Cassie played by Kathryn Newton, Broussard teases the epic scope of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and its importance to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the Ant-Man franchise has largely been used a breather, with the first outing in 2015 coming after Avengers: Age of Ultron while Ant-Man and the Wasp came following the devastating ending of Avengers: Infinity War, this will not be the case for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania....

Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish are currently in Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest festival, where their movie Attack the Block premiered. A&E Network is going directly to series on Bates Motel from Universal Television with Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights and Parenthood) serving as executive producers, it was announced today jointly by Robert DeBitetto, President and General Manager, A&E Network and BIO Channel and the network’s Executive Vice President of Programming, David McKillop. The network is moving straight to series, bypassing a pilot, with a 10-episode order. Pre-production and casting will begin immediately....
