CBS Films today announced that the company has secured exclusive rights to Marie Lu’s futuristic thriller Legend. Penguin Group has set the series’ first novel for publication in November 2011. The story follows Day, a young Robin Hood, and June, the teen prodigy hired to hunt him down; together they uncover an impossible truth about their totalitarian leaders....

Starz has committed a ton of money in order to stay in the 50 Cent business. The rapper turned producer has just signed a huge, multi-series deal with the company that will see Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson continue to develop and produce content for the network through his G-Unit production company. This comes in the wake of Power, which is produced by G-Unit and has proved to be a very successful series for the network....

After almost shooting his eye out in the original film, Peter Billingsley will be back as Ralphie in a sequel to A Christmas Story. Per Deadline, Legendary and Warner Bros. are teaming up for the project, and word is Billingsley has closed a deal to star in the sequel. Dubbed A Christmas Story Christmas, the sequel will reportedly be premiering on the streaming service HBO Max. Reportedly, Julie Hagerty (Airplane) is up to play Billingsley’s mother....

ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary has partnered with Scholastic to provide underfunded schools with free book fairs. According to Variety, Between March 14th and 18th, The book fairs will be taking place at seven Title 1 schools across the country. The deal strives to provide each student with two free books and each teacher with 10. Harrity Elementary in Philadelphia, which Abbott Elementary is based on, will be one of the schools participating....

AMC today announced that it had ordered a second season of the drama Halt & Catch Fire, a show that attracted a committed core audience and notable critical acclaim across its initial season. The America’s Most Wanted revival series is officially happening at Fox. Elizabeth Vargas will take over hosting duties from original host John Walsh. The hit initially ran from 1988 to 2011 on the Fox network, with Walsh as host. The iconic series helped law enforcement find more than 1,000 fugitives over the course of its 24 years on the air. Fox canceled the series in June 2011, but aired four specials during the 2011-12 season....

Sex and the City was a long-running American comedy-drama TV series created for HBO. It’s official: more than four million names have been added to that popular petition for Amber Heard’s role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to be recast. The petition, which you can find at Change.org, has experienced a surge in popularity in recent weeks because of the televised defamation trial involving Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp. Ahead of the trial, there were around 1.8 million signatures, and in a matter of weeks, that number has more than doubled with the petition surpassing four million signatures on Friday....

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins producer Moritz Borman told Empire Magazine that Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be in the fourth installment of the franchise, according to The Sun. The movie takes place before the famous fighting machine has been built. “We’re keeping the script under very tight security” Borman said, adding “And one of the reasons is that we have a huge twist at the end, which we’re being careful not to reveal....
