A&E is in early development on two potential new series with Bates Motel, from Universal Television and Those Who Kill, from Imagine Television and Fox21, it was announced today by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager, A&E and BIO Channel. Bates Motel serves as a prequel to the most famous fright film of all-time, Psycho. A&E is currently in script development. Bates Motel will give viewers an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years....

Actor Simon Pegg has signed onto the upcoming indie drama A Fantastic Fear of Everything for Universal Studios and Pinewood Films, a new financing arm of Pinewood Studios. Simon Pegg will play a noted children’s author who starts writing an adult crime novel. His research into Victorian Era serial killers makes the author paranoid, convinced he will be murdered at any minute. When a Hollywood studio executive shows interest in his book, the author has a complete meltdown....

Aidan Quinn will have a recurring role on Canterbury’s Law, the upcoming Sony Pictures Television series premiering midseason on FOX. Quinn plays “Matt Furey,” a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who began teaching law after his and Elizabeth Canterbury’s (Julianna Margulies) young son went missing. The couple struggle to distance themselves from the unsolved tragedy and put their relationship back together, goals that become elusive whenever Elizabeth’s cases provide a stark reminder of the justice absent in their own lives....

Typhoid Mary is coming to Hell’s Kitchen. Actress Alice Eve was on hand during Marvel and Netflix’s presentation for Iron Fist season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con, with much of the cast present for the event as well. We’ve known Eve was going to be part of the cast of the show’s new season for some time, but it wasn’t until the showcase at SDCC that her character was revealed. Eve, as speculated by some previously, will indeed be playing Typhoid Mary....

Canadian actress Alison Pill has been acting since she was ten years old, and ever since she began in the industry as a Toronto youth, she has become one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. She made her start in film and television when she was 12 years old, but her big break came years later when she appeared in The Book of Daniel. After moving to the United States once her schooling wrapped up, Pill began her broader career, appearing in 2008’s Milk....

Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto are set to star in WeCrashed, a new limited series based on the podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork icoming fromt Apple TV+. The series is described as a story that details the “greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of teh world’s most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. Hathaway and Leto will play WeWork co-founders Rebekah and Adam Neumann....

Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim is offering a set visit to any ArrowVerse show that he has been associated with. The set visit has been put up for auction in an attempt to raise money and awareness for the #Creators4Comics initiative. This comes after Guggenheim auctioned off the pitch boards he used to develop Crisis on Infinite Earths to help those in need earlier this month. It’s an interesting time at the moment and entertainers are trying to figure out ways to give back in any way they can....

Aunjanue Ellis has climbed aboard the sophomore CBS drama The Mentalist in a heavily recurring role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will play the beautiful but tough new head of the California Bureau of Investigation who is installed following the resignation of the unit’s former chief, Virgil Minelli, played by Gregory Itzin. (Itzin recently signed on to return to 24, reprising his role as former President Charles Logan.) She is brought in to restore discipline and morale to the division after the murder of three agents, including Agent Sam Bosco (Terry Kinney), and will be Agent Teresa Lisbon’s (Robin Tunney) new supervisor....

It seems that Bam Margera is doing very well these days after the former Jackass star posted an update on his personal life for his fans online. Taking to Instagram, Margera shared an image of himself with the phrase “1 year!” written on his hand. He clarifies in the caption that he has officially completed one full year of a treatment program for drug and alcohol addiction, and Margera appears to be elated with his progress....

If you wanted to watch the Batgirl movie that was in development until just recently, you’ll have to use your imagination. While the film has already completed filming, Warner Bros. Discovery has chosen to controversially cancel the release of Batgirl, meaning it won’t be coming out in theaters or on HBO Max. Reportedly, the decision was made this way for tax purposes as a way for the company to recoup as much money as possible that was spent on the $90 million budget....

Just a few days ago, the BBC made history my announcing that the 13th Doctor in Doctor Who will be played by British actress Jodie Whittker, although some fans aren’t thrilled with the news. After it was announced that Jodie Whittaker will become the first female Time Lord in the show’s 54-year history, some fans lodged complaints with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and now the BBC has responded in kind....

Brad Pitt has pulled out of a pay or play deal on State of Play, putting the Universal Pictures drama in a state of flux, according to Variety. Pitt bowed out of the film early Wednesday, following two weeks of struggle and meetings with director Kevin Macdonald that prevented the film from making its original Nov. 15 production start date. The studio will try to find a star to replace Pitt....

Warner Bros. has set Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper to direct The Hatfields and the McCoys, about the legendary American family feud, with Brad Pitt in the lead role. According to /Film, Robert Duvall said that Eric Roth has written “an excellent script” and that Pitt’s Plan B would produce at Warner Bros. Duvall would co-star. The film would tell the story of the Hatfields and the McCoys, who were in the first wave of settlers in Tug Valley, with the McCoys living on the Kentucky side and the Hatfields on the West Virginia side....
