In the years since he first stepped into the Spidey suit, Tobey Maguire has also become a recognized producer in Hollywood. While Better Call Saul didn’t have the best night at the Golden Globe Awards, the series will be getting some more recognition elsewhere. After the Golden Globes aired on Tuesday evening, featuring two nominations but zero wins for Better Call Saul, the show has been nominated for three new awards courtesy of the Screen Actors Guild. At the SAG Awards, the show has garnered new acclaim for its cast with a nomination for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, going up against The Crown, Ozark, Severance, and The White Lotus....

Comedian and actor Bill Burr chimed in on the ongoing Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial on his Monday Morning Podcast and he was as opinionated as ever. Back in 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse. Depp says this is false and that the alleged hoax tarnished his career by costing him big roles including Pirates of the Carribean 6....

Douglas McGrath, the director, writer, and actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for the Bullets Over Broadway screenplay, died suddenly yesterday. He was 64. McGrath’s career included notable works through television, film, and stage, including his latest on-stage production Everything’s Fine. McGrath starred in the Off-Broadway show, at the Daryl Roth Theatre, which he penned based on his own life. Although the play was expected to run until next year, McGrath’s final performance took place on November 2nd, just one day before his unexpected passing....

There have been sitcoms as long as there’s been fiction on TV. Back then, most of them were about families having typical troubles with some jokes, in front of a live audience. With time, the genre evolved, and the term sitcom started getting used for shows with one single camera (like they shot a movie) and no laugh track. The Menu Actress Hong Chau has had a busy year and embraced playing various characters. In her recent films, Chau has depicted a self-absorbed artist in Showing Up, a sinister Maître d’ in The Menu, and a concerned nurse in The Whale. In order to get into these roles, she has drawn from personal experience and aesthetic decisions, such as how her character may wear their hair. During a new interview with Variety, Chau says that when she read the character description for Elsa in The Menu, “a severe Scandinavian woman, which obviously isn’t me,” she decided to ask director Mark Mylod if she could have a tight bun and angular bangs to embody the character....

It seems a respected horror director has found his latest film project with Chris Columbus and his 1492 Pictures company. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Adam Green is set to direct the new film Killer Pizza. Adam Green will also write the script for the film based off the novel by Greg Taylor. The story centers on a teenage boy who lands a summer job at a pizza place called Killer Pizza, which the boy discovers is really a front for a monster-hunting organization....

Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon are starring in the HBO film You Don’t Know Jack, which airs Saturday, and paints a very different portrait of Jack Kevorkian, the man who helped terminally ill patients die, and who was once vilified in newspapers as Dr. Death. Pacino plays the former pathologist who helped 130 patients end their lives over a 10-year period before being sent to prison in 1999 for second-degree murder....

ABC has pulled the plug on a handful of its network game shows, including the new Match Game hosted by Alec Baldwin. Per Variety, the network has canceled the Match Game reboot as well as the game shows Card Sharks, The Celebrity Dating Game, and The Hustler. Baldwin’s Match Game featured the actor as host with rotating celebrities playing along, and the reboot ultimately lasted five seasons after debuting in 2016 and premiering season 5 in 2020....

Are Doc Ock and Spider-Man allies in Spider-Man: No Way Home? Thanks to the most recent Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer we now have a much better idea of the movie’s plot, with the footage offering several intriguing clues regarding the relationship between Alfred Molina’s returning villain, Doctor Octopus, and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. We reported last month that an adaptation of a 1957 novel was gearing up to start shooting despite no cast members announced and now it seems the film has started shooting and we also know who’s starring in the film.
