Fox has renewed the hit series Bones for its upcoming eighth season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Over the past seven seasons, Hart Hanson, Stephen Nathan and the incredible Bones cast and crew have redefined the traditional crime procedural with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility and I’m really happy to have this distinctive, fan-favorite on our schedule for another season,” Reilly said....

Tron: Legacy? Whoop-Doo! Yogi Bear? Whoop-doo!, too! Those two earlier films are in a completely different class. Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore was a continuation of a film that came out nearly ten years ago. It’s a sequel to a modestly successful DVD that most people had forgotten about. The kids that loved it are now burgeoning teenagers uninterested in the family-friendly exploits of a couple household pets....

We reported last week that director Bryan Singer might only be producing an upcoming superhero film and now that news seems to be confirmed. Deadline New York is reporting that Singer will only be producing X-Men: First Class, and won’t be directing the film. Singer is slated to begin production on his new film Jack the Giant Killer this summer and the site reports that Fox liked the script by Jamie Moss so much they want to fast-track the film for a summer 2011 release, which means Singer wouldn’t be available to direct the project, due to his commitment with Jack the Giant Killer, which is a Warner Bros....

When it was announced that the World War II superhero squad The Invaders would be included in Captain America: The First Avenger, many thought that meant we’d be seeing Namor: The Sub-Mariner, who is part of a team that also includes Union Jack/Montgomery Falsworth. The Silver Surfer is on course to become a linchpin in the upcoming Fantastic Four sequel Fox is readying for a July 4, 2007 bow. Could some Steven Speilberg movies be headed for HD-DVD in the US next? In a story from DVD Town, it appears that three titles from the master filmmaker were displayed in an HD-DVD presentation recently at the CEATEC in Japan. The HD-DVD titles that were showcased were Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Jurassic Park. There is no word yet on whether these titles are going to be available in the US (or even available in Japan for that matter), but if there is going to be an announcement about these movies coming to HD-DVD we will be sure to report it....

Alison Brie has broken her silence about the She-Hulk casting rumors. It was rumored earlier this week that Marvel Studios is searching for an “Alison Brie-type” to play Jennifer Walters in the highly anticipated Disney+ series. This has led a lot of people to automatically assume that Brie is taking on the role, which could actually be the case, though she played coy when answering a question about it. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige officially announced the series last summer and production is expected to begin this coming July....

The Depp v Heard trial took an interesting turn when Kate Moss took the stand earlier this week, putting another celebrity in the middle of the world’s most-publicized trial of recent memory. This happened after Moss was earlier mentioned by name in the trial when Amber Heard claimed to have heard a “rumor” that Johnny Depp had previously thrown Moss down the stairs. Heard claims that she witnessed Depp attempting to attack her sister at the top of a staircase so she struck him in self-defense, thinking specifically about the alleged rumor....

Sunday, September 18, 2022, was the world premiere of Amsterdam at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City. The film is director David O. Russell’s first film since 2015. It not only stars three past Academy Award winners and an Academy Award host, but it also introduces 33-year-old actor Vaughn Page in his first-ever film role, per Roger Friedman’s Showbiz 411. Amsterdam is a period mystery loosely based on a true story written, directed, and produced by Russell (Flirting with Disaster, American Hustle)....

In a landmark deal, all new episodes of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series Arrested Development will be coming exclusively to Netflix for its U.S. members to watch instantly, beginning in 2013. For the first time in their histories, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine Television will produce original first-run entertainment content for the world’s leading internet subscription service, bringing back the acclaimed series to production on all new episodes five years after its cancellation....
