Starz released a new teaser trailer and photo today for the highly anticipated 10-episode second season of the half-hour series Ash Vs. Evil Dead, executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, Ivan Raimi, and Craig DiGregorio who serves as executive producer and showrunner. The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil....

He-Man is getting a DVD makeover. After the tremendous success of “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”, BCI Eclipse, a Navarre Corporation Company, and leading UK media company and underlying rights owner, Entertainment Rights Plc (“ER”) who licensed the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” rights to BCI, announce the second and final installment of The New Adventures of He-Man, Volume Two. The six DVD set, which will be released under BCI’s Ink & Paint brand, will include the last 32 digitally remastered episodes from the first season of the ’90s animated series....

Bo Burnham, the songwriting comedian who turned 18 in August, is in talks with Universal to write and create the music for a comedy that Judd Apatow will produce. Burnham also could star in the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is being described as a sort of anti-High School Musical, though it is not a parody. Burnham will co-write the script with Luke Liacos. Burnham began recording his songs in his bedroom with a camera resting on a stack of books a couple of years ago, initially with the aim to put them on YouTube as way to keep in touch with his older brother, who left for college....

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE As predicted last week, director Christopher Nolan’s Inception was finally knocked out of the top spot after almost a month by newcomers The Other Guys. But with three highly anticipated new movies entering the box office this weekend including the testosterone-filled action movie The Expendables, the comic book based rock-opera Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World and the Julia Roberts-vehicle Eat, Pray, Love, which is based on the popular book, it was inevitable that the buddy-cop comedy would fall after only a week on top of the charts....

Canadian actor Ryan Grantham, 24, who plead guilty to second-degree murder in March for the murder of his mother, allegedly also had plans to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, People reports. The ex-actor, best known for his roles in 2010’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The CW’s Riverdale, is already facing a mandatory life sentence in the 2020 slaying of his mother Barbara Anne Waite. According to the British Columbia Prosecution Service, this week’s sentencing proceedings began June 13 and were held to determine how long Grantham will have to serve before being eligible to apply for parole....

Red Dawn and Disturbia co-writer Carl Ellsworth has been set to write the screenplay for a live-action feature adaptation of the R.L. Stine book series Goosebumps for Columbia. Neal H. Moritz is producing through his Original Film banner with Deborah Forte of Scholastic Entertainment. Scholastic publishes the hugely popular kids’ horror books, which number in the dozens and have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, second only to the “Harry Potter” series in total sales....

They join the Disney/Bruckheimer Films romantic comedy, which stars Isla Fisher. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Confessions of a Shopaholic is based on the best-selling novels of Sophie Kinsella and directed by P.J. Hogan. The film centers on a compulsive shopper (Fisher) in Manhattan up to her neck in debt who becomes a financial-advice columnist....

Robin McLaurin Williams, God rest his soul, was an American actor, perhaps best known for his comedic film roles. Blessed with the skill to improvise and create characters on the spur of the moment, Williams starred in the highly-rated films Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Aladdin (1992), The Birdcage (1996), and Good Will Hunting (1997). ABC has teamed up with screenwriter Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) to develop a new version of Cupid, the short-lived but well-regarded series starring Jeremy Piven about a man who thinks he’s been sent to earth by Zeus to help out romantically challenged souls. According to Variety. Sony Pictures Television, which produced the original series, has given its blessing to the remake. Cupid lasted only 15 episodes during the 1998-99 season, but it attracted a cult audience....

Alison Brie has revealed an embarrassing behind-the-scenes story from her days working on Mad Men. The gig was one of the actress’ first big roles and she went through great lengths to make a good impression on the cast and crew. Brie portrayed Trudy Campbell on the hit AMC series, starring alongside Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, and more. The new Star Wars series, Andor, has been pushed from its previous premiere date by three weeks. Andor was supposed to premiere on August 31. However, now, the show instead will premiere three weeks from the previous date, on September 21. To make up for the delay, Disney+ will release the show’s first three episodes as a bundle on the same day. It would be the first time for a Star Wars series to release as a three-episode premiere....
