AMC issued a Season 3 renewal for its hit series Better Call Saul back in March, but we haven’t had any updates on the show since then. Today we have the first four photos from this highly-anticipated season, which is slated to debut this spring on AMC. Katie Aselton (The Freebie) is set to direct and star in the thriller Black Rock, with Lake Bell and Kate Bosworth signing on to co-star. The film chronicles three childhood friends who embark on a weekend getaway to the isolated island of Black Rock, only to discover that they are not alone. The story was conceived by Aselton and written by Mark Duplass (Cyrus), both of whom will executive produce, with Adele Romanski (The Freebie, The Myth of the American Sleepover) reuniting with Aselton to produce the film....

Blue Beetle survived the recent cancelation streak of DC Films and DC TV projects at Warner Bros. Discovery; however, it did send director Angel Manuel Soto under stress at the time. After the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, David Zaslav canceled Batgirl and Wonder Twins, leaving the status of Blue Beetle hanging. However, it was revealed shortly after that the film was still in the works, but, it turns out, the whole process did get everyone worried....

If it wasn’t for Bob Odenkirk trying his hand at action movies, he might not still be here with us today. 2021 was a pretty big year for Odenkirk. In March, his new action film Nobody was released to acclaim, with fans loving the actor’s unexpected left turn into the genre. Months later, he was filming the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul, which will finally bring an end to Saul Goodman’s journey....

The tragic death of Halyna Hutchins seemed all too familiar for Shannon Lee. The daughter of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, Shannon’s brother, Brandon Lee, had also been killed by a prop firearm on the set of The Crow in 1993. His death had led to increased safety regulations in movie and TV productions, leading to immense confusion and anger from many when a prop gun Alec Baldwin was holding had somehow discharged a “live round” that killed Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza....

Writer-director Jason Reitman has come aboard to rewrite the screenplay for Burt Wonderstone, which has Steve Carell attached to star. It isn’t known if this will be a complete page-one rewrite, or just a simple polish, but Jason Reitman will work on the script for several weeks. The story centers on the title character, an iconic Las Vegas magician who is suddenly upstaged by a young new talent. He then goes on a journey of self-discovery to re-kindle his love of magic once again....

Daredevil star Charlie Cox has suggested that the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, will begin with much more of a clean slate than previously expected. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Cox even says that Daredevil: Born Again could revisit old ground, retelling certain stories that were already depicted in the Netflix show. Including the character’s origin. While he does add that he does not know exactly what the plan is for Daredevil: Born Again, Cox certainly sounds open to the idea of re-examining and retelling storylines that have already been explored during his time as Matt Murdock....

It is not surprising that making movies is going to cost a pretty penny. The film industry is a machine that invests a significant amount of money to help produce movies that are hopefully going to be a success. With more streaming services such as Hulu, HBO Max, and Netflix investing in creating original projects, it will not come as a shock that millions of dollars are put into them. Especially for a streaming platform as huge and incredibly successful as Netflix, the budget for creating Netflix originals is fitting....

CBS today announced the 19 new castaways who will compete in Survivor: Fiji when the 14th installment of the Emmy Award-winning series premieres Thursday, Feb. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Survivor: Fiji will feature a diverse cast of Americans who will begin the series as one tribe with plenty of supplies and resources on their island to make an exceptionally comfortable camp. On Day Three, the castaways will be split into two tribes, selected by one of their own as a result of events to take place prior to the first Immunity Challenge....

With the Game of Thrones final season still in production, fans of George R.R. Martin’s book series A Song of Fire and Ice, which the show is based on, got some shocking news today. The author revealed that there will be a new Game of Thrones book coming this year. But it is not the long-awaited sixth book The Winds of Winter. Instead, fans will be treated to the first volume of Fire & Blood, a two-volume companion book that provides a written history of House Targaryen....

Nerds, pirates and robots take over as MTV: Music Television today announced the nominees for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. Dominating the pack is Superbad with 5 nominations followed by Juno with 4 nods. Also vying for the much sought-after popcorn statue is Enchanted, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and Knocked Up with 3 nominations each. The 17th annual awards show will be executive produced by Emmy Award winning producer Mark Burnett....

To congratulate a horror film for “aging well” is a loaded compliment: when a scary movie becomes more relevant as the years go by, it is a testament to the success of the film and the failures of civilization. It would hurt the legacy of the zombie genre’s inaugural text if the simmering racial commentary in Night of the Living Dead (1968) no longer felt prescient - but it would speak to the healing of a racist society’s poisoned heart....

Dexter: New Blood is a continuation of Dexter, which first aired in 2006 and received vast amounts of praise and became a huge success. Indeed, the original Dexter series stood out among serial killer shows with its premise of a murderer who targets morally corrupt people. It remained a huge success until its finale in 2013, giving us some of the best episodes of dramatic television in its eight seasons. Audiences were naturally abuzz with ideas of how Dexter could continue and were delighted when New Blood became a reality....

Alan Ritchson stars as Aquaman in Smallville episode: Patriot Popular DC Comics character Aquaman (Alan Ritchson) returns with his new wife Mera (Elena Satine) on this Friday’s Tom Welling directed episode of Smallville. The episode, titled Patriot, will also feature Battlestar Galactica’s Michael Hogan as the villain Col. Slade. In an effort to protect the rest of the team, Oliver (Justin Hartley) decides to register for the Vigilante Registration Act to see what the government plans to do with the new law....

That was quick! American Idol only just went off the air in 2016. Now, the show is roaring back to life. Only this time, it’s going to be on a different network. Which could bring some big changes. ABC currently has a deal in place with FremantleMedia and Core Media Group to revive American Idol, which proved to be a ratings power house on Fox for 15 seasons. ABC and the producers have locked into a framework for an agreement that would bring the singing competition back to the airwaves....
