Ernie Hudson has joined the cast of NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot pilot, appearing in a starring role alongside Raymond Lee. Per Deadline, the pilot acknowledges the original Quantum Leap but is set 30 years since Scott Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett vanished after stepping into the Quantum Leap accelerator. There’s no indication at this time that Bakula will be involved in the pilot, but the door is open for his character to appear at some point if the show is ordered to series....

Fox Home Entertainment will bring you horror in three’s this September. The studio is unveiling 12 new three-packs of horror films, all grouped together by similar themes, which will all be released on September 9. Each of these trios will be priced at $19.99 SRP. Apple quietly removed the ability for iTunes users to rent TV episodes from the iTunes store today. The only options now available for iTunes TV viewing are to buy full episodes or purchase a season pass which gives viewers every episode in a season at a discounted price. The potential performance at the box office for Avatar: The Way of Water is a hot topic, considering that the first Avatar film is the highest-grossing film ever made and that the sequel will have to smash into the box office for it to even make a profit. The CEO of IMAX, Richard Gelfond, is confident the long-awaited return to Pandora will succeed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gelfond claimed that Avatar: The Way of Water will have “one of the highest pre-sale levels we’ve ever seen” during a conference at the Wells Fargo TMT summit, although he couldn’t reveal the exact numbers....

It’s been a long and painful wait for Barry fans to find out what will happen next after season 2’s cliffhanger ending, but it sounds like the wait between seasons 3 and 4 won’t be quite as long. Beast has a widowed doctor defending his two daughters from a murderous lion near a South African village. The CGI carnivore slashes and eviscerates human flesh with ghastly realism. Unfortunately, the film’s melodramatic plot kills as much as the rampaging critter. The characters argue and moan incessantly about family issues while under unrelenting attack. It makes little sense given their dire predicament. They also borrow from standard horror tropes by behaving foolishly and ignoring obvious self-preservation....

For a franchise as massive as Pokémon, it’s surprising that there haven’t been more forays into the world of live-action films and series. Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel to the original Blade Runner, which follows Replicant detective K as he hunts down a lost child born from a replicant. Directed by Denis Villineuve, Blade Runner 2049 features a phenomenal cast whose performances only elevated the experience of the film. Nine months after the conclusion of Season 4, Netflix has announced that Bojack Horseman Season 5 will premiere on September 14th. Additionally, the streaming platform also released a puzzling first look photo that features the titular character on the ground with a gunshot wound, inflicted by a lizard woman brandishing the gun. Some believe this is part of Bojack’s new Princess Carolyn-produced series Philbert.
