A brand new animated film has just lined up a talented quintet of actors for voice roles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Goldberg, Danny Huston, Jay Harrington, Bob Balaban and Catherine O’Hara have signed on for A Monster in Paris. French pop star Vanessa Paradis has already joined the cast and Shark Tale co-director Bibo Bergeron will direct the animated film from a script he co-wrote with Stephane Kazandjian....

AMC has decided to create more original programming for its channel. According to Variety, they are producing a fictional drama that revolves around former L.A. Laker Rick Fox. They are also bringing an adaptation of Tim O’Brien’s bestseller The Things They Carried to the small screen. The Rick Fox show will be an hour-long look at pro-ballers on and off the court. The series will center on a fictional pro basketball league, which will give AMC the creative freedom to depict players as the storylines demand....

Actor Anthony Hopkins is in talks to portray legendary director Alfred Hitchcock in an adaptation of the non-fiction book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of ‘Psycho’. We just reported on this project a few days ago, with Anvil! the Story of Anvil director Sacha Gervasi in negotiations to direct the adaptation. John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan) is adapting the script from Stephen Rebello’s non-fiction book. The book, which was first published in 1998, centers on Alfred Hitchcock’s efforts in trying to make his horror classic Psycho, which no studio wanted to make....

Spoiler Warning: Avatar: The Way of Water Avatar: The Way of Water had a lot of loose ends to set us up for Avatar 3. Just by looking at some of the details, we can tell that there are big things planned for all the Avatar sequels. James Cameron obviously knows what he’s doing since, according to his producer, he’s already finished writing Avatar 4 and 5. Not to mention, Avatar 3 is already 95% done....

The anticipated return to Pandora took 13 years, but now that Avatar: The Way of Water is finally here, it’s not all smooth landing. Just like the 2009 original, Avatar: The Way of Water follows the story of the Na’Vi, the species native to Pandora. In the original film humans attempted to take over Pandora in order to access a valuable mineral. Jake Sully, a former Marine and human from Earth is rescued by Na’vi princess Neytiri, and the two eventually fall in love with Sully remaining on Pandora....

We attended a screening of Titanic at the Arclight Hollywood theater on Monday night, which also had a Q&A session with producer Jon Landau after the film. While we already reported on plans for Titanic’s impending 3D re-release and Blu-ray release, Landau also talked a bit about what will be next up for Cameron as well. While Cameron is producing the upcoming remake Fantastic Voyage, he will only be producing and won’t be directing the film although, Landau said, Cameron is, “very much a part of the development process....

Home Entertainment has increased its run of Batman: The Animated Series Deluxe Limited Edition to 70,000 to accommodate overwhelming demand for the most anticipated Blu-ray box set release of 2018. Remastered for the first time since its broadcast airing from 1992-1995, the stunning box set for $112.99 SRP will be available on October 30, 2018. Kevin Conroy jumped at the chance to portray the Dark Knight in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. Midas Man, the upcoming film based on the life of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, was set to resume filming last month. The film tells the story of Epstein’s role in the creative ecosystem in the 1960s and his influence in the pop music industry at the time. However, the shoot has been rescheduled to pick up from January 2022 instead. The delay is meant to bring the new director, Sara Sugarman, up to speed with the production process so far....

For its tenth anniversary, Beyond Fest, the biggest genre film festival in the United States, has unveiled its most extensive slate ever. The full line-up has been announced and it includes World premieres of Halloween Ends, My Best Friend’s Exorcism, and Christmas Bloody Christmas. There will also be special screenings of Hellraiser, Banshees of Inisherin, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Smile, The Menu, and Triangle of Sadness. Along with the slate, which includes 63 features, the event also includes in-person tributes to Park Chan-wook, William Friedkin, and William Shatner, as well as an “exclusive celebration of IMAX’s creative and technical excellence featuring a rare quartet of repertory screenings....

Netflix found huge success with the original post-apocalyptic thriller film Bird Box, directed by Susanne Bier and released in 2018. The film was a massive success for Netflix, with 26 million people in the U.S. watching it in its first week. The film follows Malorie Hayes (Sandra Bullock) as she tries to protect her children from entities which cause people to die by suicide if they look directly at them. As one of Netflix’s best original movies, it’s no wonder, then, that a sequel is currently in development....
