On November 23, 2016, Moana became Disney’s 56th animated feature film, one which would shatter several structures that the company had been dealing with in previous productions. Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the movie focuses on the young daughter of the Chief of Motunui, a Polynesian island. Unlike the sedentary nature of Motunui’s inhabitants, Moana is called by the ocean at a very young age, and she eventually embarks on a journey in order to save her island from the darkness ahead and, at the same time, to discover her inner voice....

28 Days Later writer Alex Garland believes that making a third movie in the franchise is “possible” and has revealed that he has a “really cool” and “much bigger” idea for another sequel would go. Speaking with Kevin Polowy of Yahoo Entertainment, Garland, whose next movie Men is due to be released later this month, revealed that he and 28 Days Later director Danny Boyle do often discuss the potential of a third installment, but he hasn’t found the motivation to move forward with it....

AMC is developing the Western-themed, nonscripted documentary-style series True West from producer Brett Morgen. According to Variety, the new series is described as a multigenerational family drama, and follows a group of modern cowboys as they pursue a trade that’s quickly vanishing. The project is still in the early development stage; Morgen is scouting prospective subjects and shooting locations. AMC has made significant strides toward establishing brand identity over the last several years with critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning original dramas Mad Men and Breaking Bad....

As reported by ScreenRant, the original Ant-Man screenwriter Joe Cornish recently revealed why director Edgar Wright left the project during its development back in 2014. Ant-Man, was released back in 2015 and ended up being directed by Peyton Reed and introduced Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang into the MCU. The movie was positively received by most critics and even earned a sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, which dropped in 2018. Though Reed’s version of the film was popular, Wright had spent years developing the first film before he ultimately parted ways with the project due to creative differences....

FX has ordered a fourth season of its Emmy® and Golden Globe® award winning hit comedy series Atlanta, it was announced today by Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment. Production of season three (previously ordered on 6/7/18) and four - both eight episodes each - are scheduled to begin next spring. It seems that one of Fox’s popular programs has fallen victim to the swine flu disease, at least for one day. According to Entertainment Weekly’s Ausiello Files, Bones has shut down production today (Monday). Series creator Hart Hanson revealed on his Twitter account that the production was shut down. “First time in Bones history we are shut down from production. Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus.” A rep for the series confirmed that star David Boreanez was absent from the set, which is why the show was shut down....
