Adult Swim is adding a seventh night of programming each week, beginning Friday, July 6. The arrival of the full trailer for Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde caused a fair amount of backlash, much of which has been aimed at star Ana de Armas’ accent still being present in her portrayal of the iconic actress. Along with this, the trailer reignited previous complaints that the movie is just another way of exploiting the life of Monroe and her traumas in life. However, the complaints are mostly redundant considering the feature is not a biopic but a fictionalized account of Monroe’s life based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel....

Race to Witch Mountain director Andy Fickman is set to direct his next family adventure film for Walt Disney Studios: Monster Attack Network. According to Variety, Scott Elder and Josh Harmon have been hired to adapt the AIT/Planet Lar graphic novel, which the studio bought last summer. The 2007 graphic novel focuses on a team of first-responders who guard the citizens of Lapuatu, a Pacific island that would be a paradise except for frequent attacks by giant monsters that rise from the sea....
