Alex Trebek posthumously won one last Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host. At the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony on Friday evening, Trebek was officially named as the winner of the category, though this was little surprise as he was deservedly the heavy favorite going in. Trebek also took the Emmy last year and this latest award is his eighth win overall for that category. He was also granted a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2011....

Television star Barrie Youngfellow has passed away. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actress, who’s perhaps best known for her role on the 1980s comedy series It’s a Living, passed away on Monday. No official cause of death was revealed. Youngfellow was 75 years old. “She was the best of friends and had many loyal ones,” an obituary written by the family reads. “Loved a good story and a nice bottle....

Just when it looks like Blockbuster has cornered Netflix, something happens to even up the battle. In a story from Variety, it seems that “Blockbuster has settled a yearlong patent dispute with rival Netflix over online rentals.” Terms of this settlement weren’t made readily available but the “Dallas-based Blockbuster disclosed the settlement in a SEC filing that also signaled changes to its Total Access program linking online and in-store rentals by year’s end....
