20th Century Fox has announced that the Untitled Alien Prequel will now be known as Prometheus, with a release date set for March 9, 2012. We reported in October that Noomi Rapace was in contention for a role. Now, her role is confirmed, with the actress portraying Elizabeth Shaw. Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are now circling the other lead role of Vickers. Jon Spaihts wrote the original draft of the script, which is now being rewritten by director Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof....

Prey has worked wonders for Hulu and the Predator franchise. The film, which came out earlier this month, registered the biggest premiere on Hulu, surpassing all other original films and TV shows on the streaming platform. Prey has also successfully revived the Predator franchise, which was in shambles after the disastrous 2018 entry, The Predator, and made a star out of Amber Midthunder in the process. However, Prey has not been without controversies....

In 2021, a new show was released from the minds behind American Horror Story (2011-) and American Crime Story (2016-). The show would be a direct spin-off of the former and would also serve as the third installment in the American Story anthology franchise created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Thus American Horror Stories was spawned as a self-contained anthology series in which each episode told its own story without needing a “season-long story arc as featured in American Horror Story....

Modern television shows like FX’s Atlanta are unlike anything else on television today. Debuting in 2016, the show follows Earn (Donald Glover) and his cousin, Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry), as a famous rapper and a hopeful manager living in Atlanta. The characters navigate the Atlanta music scene with friends (LaKeith Lee Stanfield) and loved ones (Zazie Beetz), dealing with societal and economic issues along the way. The premise of sounding like a comedy is a disservice to the intelligence of this series....

The surprise success of the Disney hit single ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno,’ taken from the animated feature film Encanto, ironically had everyone talking about it. Interestingly, not even Disney predicted the popularity of the song, which climbed to the top of the Billboard Chart, making it the second Disney song to ever do so. At the moment, just one YouTube video for the song is pushing 500 million views....

When a movie introduces a story involving a love triangle of any kind, you know that the plot is guaranteed to be tense. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is set to hit the theaters in a week. The first reactions of the film are praising Johnson for his take on the character, which he has wished to portray for years. Earlier, Johnson was supposed to play the character in Shazam! (2019); however he lobbied for Black Adam to be a separate film. Fans have speculated and wished for Black Adam and Shazam to live their rivalry in the live-action DC Extended Universe....

The CW has released the first trailer for Black Lightning season 3. The network revealed the trailer, which is really more of a sizzle reel recapping the events of the first two seasons, during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Cast members such as Cress Williams, who plays the titular hero, as well as Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, China Anne McClain, Jordan Calloway and Marvin Jones III all made the trek to the pop culture event this year to showcase the footage and discuss what’s coming down the pipeline this year....

The Good A double-dip with a great new documenatry. The Bad The tranfer is incredibly ugly to watch on an HDTV, very dissapointing considering that this is a double-dip. The year is 1989 and so far in that decade we had some pretty cheesy action films. However, Ridley Scott took his approach to this story that if handled by anyone else would have ended up probably like any other 80’s action flick....

AMC announced today its summer programming slate, including the highly anticipated premiere of the first part of Breaking Bad’s final season on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm ET/PT. The final season of the Emmy Award-winning and critically acclaimed drama, produced by Sony Pictures Television, consists of 16 episodes, with the first eight episodes beginning July 15 and culminating with the series’ final eight episodes next summer 2013. Also this summer, the network debuts its newest unscripted series, Small Town Security, on Sunday, July 15 at 11pm ET/PT and season two of the epic western Hell on Wheels Sunday, August 12 at 9pm ET/PT....

The Broadway version of the hit comedy Legally Blonde will air uncut on MTV. According to Variety, this is the first fully staged Rialto production to ever appear on TV while live performances are still going strong. Two performances of “Legally Blonde” will be taped with five cameras at Gotham’s Palace Theater on September 17th. One will be with an audience and the other will be without. The final filmed product will be edited to include the full legit production as well as backstage material....
