Even with Better Call Saul over, series star Bob Odenkirk has already been keeping himself just as busy with multiple upcoming projects in the works. Now on his plate is a new comedy movie called The Making of Jesus Diabetes, which Deadline reports as Odenkirk on board to co-star as well as co-write the screenplay. The project reunites Odenkirk with comedy actor-writers Andrew Friedman (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Michael Naughton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), both of whom appeared in the fourth season of Better Call Saul....

Hype. It sold the most movie tickets this summer. And we, as a whole, bought into it. I can’t think of one film that didn’t benefit from mass quantities of people screaming about its hooker-hand like ways in unison. Brian De Palma’s next film is aimed to tackle the same subject matter as his 1989 drama Casualties of War, set during the Vietnam war, where a girl is taken from her village by five American soldiers. Four of the soldiers rape her, but the fifth refuses. The young girl is killed. The fifth soldier is determined that justice will be done. The film is more about the realities of war, rather than this single event....

Video game publisher Capcom is looking to develop more movies based on their popular titles. They’re the company behind the Resident Evil franchise, and they’re be teaming with Hyde Park Entertainment for a Street Fighter movie due in 2008 based on Chung Li, one of the most popular fighters from the game series. Now, the Japanese group will be searching for studios to develop some other franchises, says The Hollywood Reporter; Devil May Cry, Lost Planet, Dead Rising and Onimusha are among the few titles....

We reported yesterday that the hit CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother was given a sixth-season order and apparently the network struck another deal with the creators for a brand new show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has issued an order for How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas’ new pilot, entitled Livin’ On a Prayer. Bays and Thomas wrote the pilot along with How I Met Your Mother writer-producers Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly....

One of the most shocking and heartbreaking deaths of 2020 was that of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman. Perhaps equally heartbreaking was the revelation that the actor, unbeknownst to many, had been battling colon cancer for years before succumbing to the disease on August 28, 2020. The movie Black Panther had become such a phenomenal hit with a legion of fans eagerly anticipating a sequel. A sequel would eventually be in the works and is scheduled for release later this year, but it will be without its major star....

Bring home the justice, deluxe edition style. …And Justice For All is coming out in a Deluxe Edition DVD on February 12. The film will be released in the standard format, but no pricing details have been released. The film was nominated for 2 Academy Awards for Al Pacino’s lead performance and for Barry Levinson and Valerie Curtin’s original screenplay. The film stars Pacino, Lee Strasberg, Jack Warden and John Forsythe....

Movies are meant to tell a story. Some of them are based on reality. A good docudrama, chronicling the life of a public figure, can make the viewer forget what year they are in and bring them to an earlier era. The immersive feeling of a movie can help audiences travel to another place or time. For reality-based productions, such an idea can be simple. It’s the fiction pieces that turn out to affect future events, whether directly or not, that truly give us pause....

During Syfy’s TCA Winter Tour presentation today, the network unveiled a new trailer for Krypton, which offers our first look at the pivotal DC character Adam Strange, played by Shaun Sipos. When the actor was cast in this series regular role in September, it was revealed that Adam Strange is a “world-weary human” who becomes stranded on Krypton and becomes an “unlikely mentor” to Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), Superman’s grandfather. This trailer reveals that Adam Strange is actually from the future, in our present day, telling Seg-El that the fate of his entire planet is at risk, with someone from the future coming to destroy Krypton, because where he’s from, Seg-El’s grandson Superman, “becomes the greatest hero of the universe”....

The British Actor talks about his role as the God of War in the latest DC Animated feature Alfred Molina is no stranger to superhero film fans, having played Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2, but now he’s lending his acting talents, and voice, to an entirely different supervillain. Molina will be voicing Ares, the God of War in Warner Home Video’s animated feature Wonder Woman. Molina sat down for a Q&A session where he discusses the challenges of working in animation, what he loves about the work and what it’s like to have god-like cheekbones....

Lionsgate seems as if they are trying to gain even more market share in the horror genre. In a story from Fangoria, they report that American Psycho will be coming to Blu-ray DVD on February 6. Synopsis: Bret Easton Ellis’ dark and violent satire of America in the 1980s is brought to the screen in this unsettling drama with black comic overtones. Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale), the son of a wealthy Wall Street financier, is pursuing his own lucrative career with his father’s firm....

Stone screenwriter Angus MacLachlan discusses working with this talented cast, shooting in Michigan, new projects and more. Screenwriter Angus MacLachlan was put on the map in 2005 with his indie sensation Junebug, which also launched Amy Adams into the acting stratosphere with her Oscar-nominated performance. In 2005, Angus MacLachlan also started turning his one of his plays into a screenplay, and five years later, Stone was released. Assassin’s Creed gave us a pretty original premise in gaming: players step into a supercomputer called the Animus, which allows them to explore history through the shared genetic memories of their ancestors. Spawning 12 major installments and 9 spinoff games, the series is popular for its stealthy mechanics and extremely vibrant historical worlds. Unfortunately, the first attempt to adapt the games into film wasn’t as successful. Indeed, the 2016 live-action movie Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender, didn’t live up to fan expectations during its initial release...

Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski will write the new TV series Red Mars for Spike TV. The project, based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s sci-fi novel trilogy, was originally set up at AMC back in October 2008 with writer Jonathan Hensleigh (The Punisher, Armageddon), but it never moved forward. Spike TV picked up the rights in October, and has put it on the fast track. The adaptation, named after the first book in Kim Stanley Robinson’s trilogy, centers on the colonization and transformation of Mars into a planet that could sustain human life....
