The BBC spy thriller television series Killing Eve has concluded with a not-so-expected and, per Vanity Fair, not-well-liked ending. That being said, the four seasons of the BBC Three and BBC America drama have been a great ride for the viewers, with each season being led by a different head female writer. Killing Eve, based on Villanelle by Luke Jennings, gave a new insight to TV shows adapted from books. And it’s okay to say that Killing Eve did the book justice throught its past seasons, even though some might not be happy with the finale itself....

ABC has given a full season order to Dirty Sexy Money, according to Variety. The order marks the first back-nine episode pick-up since writers went on strike two weeks ago. Such a move would seem odd, since there’s no guarantee Dirty Sexy Money will even complete its initial 13-segment order, given the work stoppage. But ABC executives are high on the show, which has been collecting buzz and turning into a sleeper surprise for the network....

The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 is in production right now, and is expected to premiere later this year, but unfortunately, one central character won’t be returning. Alexis Bledel, who has played Dr. Emily Malek/Ofglen in The Handmaid’s Tale since season one, recently announced her exit from the dystopian drama series. The tale of the feuding organ repo flicks continues. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alice Braga has been cast in the second to be announced artifical organ thriller The Repossession Mambo. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker are also starring in the futuristic thriller being produced by Universal Pictures. The plot is based on Eric Garcia’s novel of the same name. He wrote the script with Garrett Lerner. The plot follows a repo man who must repossess artificial organs....

AMC today announced a straight-to-series order for the martial arts drama Badlands(working title). Badlands joins The Walking Dead and the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul as AMC’s only straight-to-series orders. Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale “Journey to the West.” In a land controlled by feudal barons, Badlands tells the story of a great warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment....

For over a decade, American Horror Story has been delighting and dividing audiences everywhere. Since 2011, the horror anthology series has taken viewers everywhere, from a California house with a horrific past to the edge of the apocalypse (and everywhere in between). Though the details of each new iteration of the series are kept tightly under wraps by showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, season 11 of American Horror Story was announced last week at FX’s TCA executive session....

Ever since James Cameron decided on directing Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 instead of taking on the huge task of directing Angelina Jolie in the historical epic Cleopatra, Columbia Pictures has been on the lookout for a director. Today, while in Cannes, Angelina Jolie confirmed that David Fincher is in talks to take on this mammoth production. The director is currently in the midst of post-production on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, though, and its not clear how soon he will tackle the follow-up remake of The Girl Who Played with Fire....

Arclight Films has acquired world rights to Hood of Horror, currently in production starring Snoop Dogg. According to Variety, the movie is executive produced by Snoop Dogg, along with Gordon Steel and John Baca. The film’s cast additionally includes Ernie Hudson, Danny Trejo, Method Man, Jason Alexander and Billy Dee Williams. The movie follows three terrifying inner-city tales of people whose actions in this life determine their fate in the next, and includes anime sequences created by the Madhouse label, under guidance of f/x guru John Gaeta (The Matrix trilogy)....

If the first season of HBO’s Emmy-winning True Detective, FX’s Emmy-winning Justified or Roadside Attractions’ Oscar-nominated Winter’s Bone had you captivated, you’re in for a treat, as author Daniel Woodrell’s The Bayou Trilogy has just landed a TV series adaptation with Timberman-Beverly and Lionsgate. “Daniel Woodrell is a brilliant storyteller, wordsmith and poet, and his books are a master class in character, crime fiction and the South,” said Beverly speaking with Deadline....

With an angry title that makes itself plainly clear much later in this film, Bastards Of the Party is probably the best documentary on Los Angeles gangs to date. Directed by Cle Shaheed Sloan this movie has an authentic quality that even the best documentary films cannot touch. As an Athen’s Park Blood, Sloan is no longer a gang banger but he’s stayed in it because he feels that that is the way to make the most positive and impactful change....

As previously announced, in support of BBC America’s U.S. premiere of four Doctor Who Specials, the Doctor himself, David Tennant, will appear alongside writer/executive producer Russell T Davies at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. They will take part in a Doctor Who panel along with executive producer Julie Gardner and director Euros Lyn, moderated by Los Angeles Times television critic, Robert Lloyd on Sunday July 26, 10:00-11:00am PT. Jackass 3D is set to hit theaters this weekend, arriving on October 15. While it brings the return of Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason Acuña and the rest of the crew, it also marks the return of two more very famous cult icons. Warner Bros.-based financing and production company Alcon Entertainment (The Blind Side, The Book of Eli) co-founders and co-Chief Executive Officers Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove, in the most significant property acquisition negotiations in the Company’s 13-year history, are in final discussions to secure film, television and ancillary franchise rights to produce both prequels and sequels to the iconic 1982 science-fiction thriller Blade Runner. Alcon is negotiating to secure the rights from producer-director Bud Yorkin, who will serve as producer on future Blade Runner movies along with Kosove and Johnson....
