The late Bob Saget will have a presence on AFV for the rest of the current season. Originally titled America’s Funniest Home Videos, the program first aired in 1989 with Saget serving as the original host. The comedian spent many years showcasing the most outlandish home videos in the years before social media and YouTube were a thing. On the Jan. 16 episode of AFV, current host Alfonso Ribeiro paid tribute to Saget with a special segment highlighting some of his funniest moments from the show....

The merge between pop music and the film industry has gone through its various stages in the last few decades, but none as peculiar yet extremely catchy as the reputation and career of Alvin and the Chipmunks. The sensational trio of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore premiered for the first time on film in 1987 in the movie The Chipmunk Adventure. Since then, the fictional band of chipmunk brothers has gone on to be the main focal point in both animated and live-action movie adaptations, establishing a beloved franchise....

America’s Funniest Videos is celebrating 30 years of family entertainment by bringing all three of the show’s major hosts back together for a reunion special. Called AFV: America, This Is You!, the special will air on ABC on Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. ET, following the airing of a new episode of the long-running comedy series. Ahead of the special, Bob Saget has also tweeted a photo of himself posing with his AFV successors from a photo shoot for TV Guide....

Director Andrew Dominik feels that it takes an NC-17 rating to most effectively tell Marilyn Monroe’s story. The upcoming film Blonde, directed by Dominik and featuring Ana de Armas as Monroe, has just been given its official rating by the Motion Picture Association. It has been rated NC-17 for its racy content, with the film apparently featuring enough of it to surpass an R rating. If you ask Dominik, however, this news comes as no surprise as that had been the plan from the start....

Showtime, an established leader in outstanding original programming, continues to expand its aggressive push into high-end, filmmaker-driven documentaries with a captivating new doc Suge Knight (tentative title), directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest) and produced by Brad Fischer (Black Swan, Shutter Island, Zodiac) and Fuqua. The feature-length film will be the first in a series of new documentaries produced by Showtime that will spotlight iconic and controversial figures from talented and prestigious filmmakers....

As if Warner Bros. Discovery’s recent wave of high-profile movie and TV show cancelations, as well as a purge of content from HBO Max, was not enough to contend with, the DCEU slate has seen another round of delays. This time it is Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom that have both found themselves being shunted further down the line causing more frustration amongst fans....

Cheryl Toma Sanders and her husband Robert Reed Sanders were shot and killed last weekend. Sanders is best-known for her stunt work on movies such as Thor, Back to the Future 2, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and many more. The shootout happened on the property of a million dollar home near Yellow Springs, Ohio. The property belongs to Sanders’ ex-husband who allegedly fatally shot his former Hollywood stunt woman ex-wife and her current husband for trespassing....

Warner Bros. handling of their DCEU movies seems to have taken another strange and almost unbelievable twist as it has been reported from multiples sources that Batgirl has been canceled and will not be released in any form. Despite the $80 million movie being complete, it has been suggested that the test screenings of the movie were so bad that a decision has been made to completely abandon the project. This comes just a few days after Brendan Fraser was seen discussing his upcoming role as Firefly at GalaxyCon in Raleigh, North Carolina, making it seem a decision that has literally just been made or, as many fans are still vainly hoping, there has been some very crossed wires....

A new poster for the upcoming action movie Bullet Train puts Hollywood heavy hitter Brad Pitt front and center. 28 Days, Five Continents, More than 45,000 miles! Eleven former teams will return to compete in a Race around the world on The Amazing Race: All-Stars. The 11th installment of the four-time Emmy Award-winning series hosted by Phil Keoghan, will premiere Sunday, Feb. 18 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The Amazing Race: All-Stars will reunite some of the most memorable, entertaining and controversial Teams from previous seasons, who will travel more than 45,000 miles, spanning five continents in 28 days, with stops in such locations as Argentina, Mozambique and Chile, to name a few....

Get prepared for some puppies in March! In a story from Home Media Magazine, it looks like The Walt Disney Company has picked March 4 to bring out 101 Dalmations in a Platinum Edition. This release will be a “two-DVD set” and it “features a new digital film restoration of 101 Dalmations (the 1961 animated version). The DVD has been out of circulation and will be pulled once again after a limited release....

Movies are a form of art that have the power to transport us to different worlds, make us laugh, cry, and feel a wide range of emotions. They can also be a source of entertainment, and a way for us to escape reality for a little while.
