Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted Twilight film franchise. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, New Moon, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for New Moon....

This might be an odd way to begin a list of Thanksgiving films on Netflix but the title of this list is sort of misleading (see, I’m calling out myself for clickbait!). I say this because there really aren’t too many Thanksgiving themed films for kids that are on Netflix. A more appropriate title would’ve been, “Films For Kids to Watch on Thanksgiving,” but the title I chose seemed to have a snappier ring to it....

Stunts can be the most visually pleasing but also very dangerous part of a film or series. Sometimes these performances don’t go as planned and can endanger the stunt devil, which may even turn fatal. Even the world-famous specialist/actor, Jackie Chan, wasn’t an exception. However, as painful as it sounds, it’s these failed stunts that work like magic to bring out the ‘perfect expression’ from the actors. During interviews, actors have often described how a certain stunt was difficult or resulted in an injury that put them in the hospital....

Fashion and film have always been interconnected throughout the decades. It’s no secret that costume design is an important element in film. A well-designed costume can bring characters to life, transport the viewer to another time or place, and most importantly lend integrity to a director’s creative vision. Furthermore, well-executed costume pieces can greatly impact the staying power of a film. Take Breakfast at Tiffany’s, for example: despite being filmed in the 60s, the costumes remain timeless and modern and as fashionable today as ever, and undoubtedly cemented the film’s reputation as a romantic Hollywood classic....

Although it was almost guaranteed, A Quiet Place Part III is now officially coming in 2025 following the release of a spinoff movie next year directed by Michael Sarnoski. Slipped in among the many big announcements during the Paramount Investor Day presentation, the studio finally confirmed the long-standing rumor that John Krasinski would be returning to produce a second direct sequel to the 2018 smash horror hit A Quiet Place along with Michael Bay....

Chronicle producer John Davis has acquired the sci-fi short film Archetype, with plans to expand it into a full-length feature film. Dennis Dugan, who directed Adam Sandler’s Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore will direct I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, according to Production Weekly. The film was written by Alexander Payne and James Taylor (Screenwriters of Sideways) and stars Sandler and Kevin James portraying two straight firefighters who pose as a gay married couple in order to qualify for their department’s domestic partner benefits. Widowed fireman Larry Ellensworth (James) is best buddies with infamous womanizer Chuck Ford (Sandler)....

Prepare to for a little Angel in November. In a story from DVD Times, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Angel-A on November 20. Synopsis: A man meets a woman in Paris. Down-on-his-luck petty criminal Andre (Jamel Debbouze) has reached the end of his rope. Irreversibly in debt to a local gangster, with no one to turn to, his only solution is to plunge himself into the Seine. Just as he is perched to do so, a fellow bridge-jumper beats him to the water....

It’s probably just a matter of time before the masked swordsman known as Zorro gets his next reboot, and one previous actor known for playing the role is endorsing Tom Holland. In 1998, Antonio Banderas famously played the role in the hit film The Mask of Zorro, later returning to reprise the part in 2006’s The Legend of Zorro. Banderas spoke with Quentin Tarantino about possibly returning as Zorro one last time in a Django Unchained crossover, though the project fizzled out before that could happen....

Zack Snyder may not have been able to bring his DC “Snyderverse” to screens as intended, but the writer/director is certainly not going to be stopped in his tracks when it comes to his Army of the Dead franchise, which he has revealed will have a sequel under the title of Planet of the Dead. A Snyder-penned prequel movie, Army of Thieves is currently awaiting its Netflix premiere this Friday, but it seems like Snyder isn’t hanging around to gauge reactions to the movie before pressing on with his newest installment, and has been teasing the return of one character in particular....

This past weekend, Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz held a cast reunion, where he revealed that he is planning an 8-10 episode Arrested Development mini-series that will, presumably, air on television before the big screen Arrested Development movie hits theaters sometime in the (maybe not so) near future. Ron Howard, who participated in the reunion panel via phone conferencing, chatted with us on Monday night, and he extrapolated on this plan for both a mini-series and a movie....

Believers, a modern day physchological thriller, is set to be released on June 19th, 2007. Synopsis: Believers is a creepy and provocative film set in an almost entirely real time world, where the story unfolds through the eyes of the two central characters; paramedics David Vaughn and Victor Hernandez....

Leslie Jordan tragically passed away Monday morning, according to a report from TMZ. The actor and comedian was 67 years old. According to the report, law enforcement claims the actor was driving in Hollywood when he suffered a medical emergency, crashing his BMW into the side of a building. The medical episode is unknown for now. Jordan is an accomplished actor, portraying iconic characters over his years in the industry. He appeared as Beverley Leslie in Will & Grace, which ran for 11 seasons....
