The WB’s short-lived series Birds of Prey is coming to DVD soon, and now you can get a first look at the cover art for the boxed set. Comics2Film revealed the cover, showing actress Ashley Scott as Helena Kyle/The Huntress. Check out the DVD cover art below. Birds of Prey was produced in 2002 for the WB and is loosely based on the DC Comics series with the same name. While the world was sleeping at night, the Birds of Prey flock together to fight crime on the streets of New Gotham City....

He may have saved Freeland in the first season, but Black Lightning (Cress Williams) is in for a whole new world of pain when Jordan Calloway returns as DC villain Painkiller in the show’s sophomore season. Guest starring as Khalil Payne in Season 1, Calloway’s promotion to series regular was revealed by showrunner/executive producer Salim Akil during the Black Lightning San Diego Comic-Con 2018 panel today. This is definitely a welcome return by fans who wanted to see more of Painkiller in the DC show....

There has been many instances when other actors were considered for a role that would go on to become so signature of someone else; Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova is definitely one strong example. The character of Natasha’s sister was first introduced in the 2021 Black Widow movie. Everyone instantly fell in love with Yelena’s strong charisma and self-confidence. At the time, Pugh assured fans that her character’s introduction to the franchise didn’t mean the Black Widow torch was passing on to Yelena....

While some hurdles do still remain for the Blu-Ray format’s success, a recent report indicates that mass-adoption of the format may come fairly soon. The Entertainment Merchants Association released its annual report at the EMA’s annual Home Media Expo, which runs from June 24 to June 28 in Las Vegas. Among the findings in the report was an item that predicted Blu-Ray discs will outsell standard DVD discs by the year 2012....

Former child star Ben Savage is looking to become a U.S. Congressman, and he’s already got one vote with this endeavor. Rising to fame as one of the stars of the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, Savage has since gotten involved with politics as well. He previously qualified to run for the West Hollywood City Council last year, and while he didn’t win that particular election, the actor is setting his sights a bit higher with his next political move....

In a story from Variety, Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky are teaming up for Focus Feature’s The Tiger. Guillermo Arriaga is going to write the script. The film is based on the soon to be released nonfiction book “The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival” from John Vaillant. It is set “on the Siberian plain, where human development is encroaching on the tigers’ habitat – and one tiger turns on the intruders....

After months of speculation it looks like Bradley Cooper will be taking on the classic Steve McQueen role of Frank Bullitt in a new Steven Spielberg movie based on the character. Having been in discussion between the pair since 2020, Deadline reported that Cooper has now signed on to play Bullitt in a brand new story featuring the San Francisco cop. Bullitt was a 1968 thriller starring McQueen as a cop on the hunt for a kingpin who killed a witness in his protection, and it featured one of the most iconic car chases is cinema history....

There’s going to be a major Breach on DVD in June! An untested FBI employee attempts to trap the deadliest double agent in U.S. history in the intense thriller Breach, coming to DVD and HD DVD & DVD Combo format on June 12, 2007 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Prime Video’s upcoming A League of Their Own reboot has yet to receive a release date on the streaming platform, but a newly released image has given a first look at the Rockford Peaches in their team kit. ABC has announced that the second season of V will debut on Tuesday, January 4 at 9 PM ET, and the network will also debut a new Dancing with the Stars spin-off series where they take to the ice in Skating With the Stars. Which will premiere on Monday, November 22 as part of a six-episode run. It’s obviously been a rough time in Alec Baldwin’s life lately, and the actor is hoping to leave as many negative feelings as he can in 2021 as he starts the new year with a more optimistic outlook. Back in October, Baldwin had been filming the movie Rust when a prop gun he was holding discharged a live round, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza. The incident has left many in the industry calling for firearm safety reform on movie and television sets....

Alex Trebek might be fighting for his life as his battle with cancer continues, but the Jeopardy host is still finding the time to think about others who are suffering. As reported by TMZ, Trebek recently made a hefty donation to the tune of $100,000 to the Hope of Valley Rescue Mission, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit focused on reducing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Every year, the program serves nearly 300,000 hot meals and offers shelter at night for 93,000 homeless individuals, and Trebek’s new donation will go a long way towards keeping the nonprofit running....

Netflix has officially announced that Altered Carbon is coming back for Season 2. And it will have an altered cast of new characters coming in for more sci-fi shockers and futuristic drama. The streaming giant kicks off this news with this tagline, teasing what fans can expected. Favorites Renée Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner will return to Altered Carbon in the all-new upcoming episodes. Along for the ride this time are Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht and James Saito, who have all recently joined the cast....

The next great science fiction series may be on its way. Prime Video’s new thriller Night Sky is set to drop exclusively on the streaming platform next month. Notably, rather than filming in a traditional production hub such as L.A. or New York, Night Sky is filming in rural Illinois. Specifically, some filming locations include the towns of Woodstock, Frankfort, Wauconda, and Island Lake. The series was also filmed at Cinespace Film Studios in Chicago....
