It’s been 13 years since the release of the initial Avatar film by James Cameron, and audiences are still waiting for the follow-up, Avatar: The Way of Water, to hit theaters later this year. A need for new technology and the planning and mapping out of four subsequent sequels is the reason for the lengthy delay between the first and second films. However, now that the Avatar team has everything they need to continue, the franchise’s production is in full swing....

Mark Hamill and Stan Lee are working together on a new Avengers series. The two legends will be united on the new season of Disney XD’s Avengers Assemble animated series, which changes titles from season to season based on the story arc. This will be the fifth season of the show overall and is officially titled. Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest. No doubt, this decision has to do with the massive success of Black Panther at the box office, but the big draw here is having Hamill and Lee together....

Ben Affleck has two films he’s promoting this season The George Clooney-directed The Tender Bar starring alongside Tye Sheridan in the bittersweet coming-of-age story. Surprisingly, it took David Beckham’s cameo in Guy Ritchie’s 2017 critical flop, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, to really make filmmakers think twice about misplacing their faith in a sports star in the hope their name will help sell the movie. Unfortunately for Ritchie’s abysmal screenplay, David Beckham’s cameo appearance as Trigger, a noble knight, was as expectedly wooden, characterless, and contrived as the man himself. This wasn’t the first time Ritchie gave an ex-soccer player a feature debut, after Vinnie Jones’ stellar performance in the critically successful, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels....

Everyone knows the best part of a romance movie is the final grand gesture: the ultimate declaration of love. Even when the drama bubbles, and things seem like they are going to fall apart, the couple pulls through because, in romance films, love usually comes out the victor. Depending on the film, “I love you” scenes can take place at any point. In true rom-com fashion, the declaration will usually come at the end, after the characters have overcome some minute dispute that could have easily been solved with a simple conversation....

As viewers get into the groove of the new year, Netflix’s February line up of original television series is sure to offer bingeworthy shows for everyone looking to ride the couch next month. So, while we all collectively lose motivation to achieve our resolutions for the new year, at least we know there will be plenty to watch in the coming weeks, which is unlikely to disappoint. Netflix should have no problem holding the attention of viewers as shows like You and Outer Banks return, much to the delight of avid fans....

The sport of skateboarding has changed a lot throughout the decades. When the Zephyr skate team began competing, they revolutionized the sport in the 1970s. The sport began as an outlet for young surfers to gain speed and thrills. It also served as a symbol of rebellion against authority. For years, skaters have been getting kicked out of public places. Tony Alva, and the rest of the Zephyr skate team made their mark and paved the way for the pro skaters we know today such as Tony Hawk....

The official trailer has arrived for Better Call Saul season 6B, the final batch of episodes that will premiere on July 11. There are just six episodes left of the Breaking Bad prequel series and fans were left with a tense cliffhanger ending at the conclusion of season 6A. How things will play out from here remains to be seen but the new trailer, though limited in new footage, teases what’s to come in the last episodes....

The Crocodile Hunter’s legacy lives on. In a recent article with PEOPLE Magazine, Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bindi Irwin, explained how her daughter is captivated by documentaries of her father, who the world knew as “the Crocodile Hunter.” In the article, which was the cover story for this issue of PEOPLE Magazine, Bindi explained, “We have so many documentaries of Dad, and we’re always playing them for Grace. It’s so fun to watch her study him....

Black Adam was a movie filled with awesome superhero violence. From Black Adam’s destructive intro fight in slow motion, all the way to the end when he uttered his incredible catchphrase. It probably had some of the most violent and creative fight scenes we’ve seen in a superhero movie for a while. Black Adam is a villain, after all. Dwayne Johnson brings incredible ferocity to his role. As Black Adam crashes through the movie, everyone else is just in his way....

PREDICTED WEEKEND BOX OFFICE This summer’s disappointing box office got a much needed injection of excitement last weekend with it’s $100 million plus earnings from the opening of Toy Story 3 and even with two major new contenders, Grown Ups and Knight and Day, entering the charts this week the critically raved Pixar film managed to hold on to the number one spot for a second week in a row with an additional $59 million....

Bruce Willis is best known for some of his earlier works, from the Die Hard movie franchise to Pulp Fiction. Recently, he retired from acting altogether, after his family made an announcement that he is suffering from aphasia. That didn’t stop him from ending his career with a bang, however, as he churned out many direct-to-video movies in the last few years, seemingly trying to cram in as many movies as possible before retirement....

According to Variety, Casino Royale broke the bank at the overseas box office with $66.2 million at 6,600 playdates in 50 markets. The James Bond pic wiped out rivals via a strong second U.K. frame plus socko launches throughout Western Europe as it led in every new market, and posted the sixth-biggest weekend of 2006 internationally with an impressive per-location average of about $10,000. The film saw offshore cume hit $128....

Catherine Tate, one of the main candidates to replace Steve Carell on Season 8 of The Office is being brought back for a major recurring role as this current season continues on NBC. Catherine Tate will make her return appearance sometime during the second half of Season 8, reprising her role as Nellie Bertram, who was interviewed for Michael Scott’s job during last year’s season finale. She is recruited as a special project manager working for the corporate office by close friend and Chairman of the Board, Jo Bennett (Kathy Bates, who’ll not be seen this year)....

CBS has announced their 2012 Mid-Season Schedule, which includes very little in the way of change. Rules of Engagement is getting its 8:30 pm Thursday night slot handed to the new Rob Schneider comedy ¡Rob!, which debuts January 12th. ¡Rob! will feature the comedian as a newlywed that marries into a tight-knit Mexican-American Family. Cheech Marin will play Rob’s father-in-law. Undercover Boss will return to CBS on January 15th, to take over for The Amazing Race Sundays at 8pm....

CBS today announced mid-season schedule changes that include the return of the drama Flashpoint, the premiere of the mystery event Harper’s Island, the debut of the new game show Game Show in My Head and the returns of the Network’s reality hits Survivor and The Amazing Race. Flashpoint, last summer’s top original scripted series, premieres Friday, Jan. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). Flashpoint, starring Enrico Colantoni, Hu gh Dillon, Amy Jo Johnson, David Paetkau, Michael Cram, Sergio Di Zio, Ruth Marshall and Mark Taylor, depicts the emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of cops in the Strategic Response Unit (inspired by Toronto’s Emergency Task Force)....

It was a good week to go prehistoric in home video. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 10,000 B.C. destroyed the competition in DVD sales, rentals and high-definition, beating out three new releases, for the week ending June 29. The Roland Emmerich-directed 10,000 B.C. sold around 25% more than its nearest competition, fellow newcomer The Spiderwick Chronicles, which took second in sales and third in rentals. Fool’s Gold, last week’s top rental, slipped to second place this week....

Harry Potter is perhaps one of the largest and most beloved franchises in cinema history. While a reboot doesn’t seem likely anytime soon, the franchise is still well-loved. There’s something about the overall story of wildly magical adventures starring complex, yet relatable, characters that continually draws audiences in, both old and new.
