Sacha Baron Cohen is a shape shifter, he has created characters and has basically become those characters, Ali G and Borat are his most famous. Borat is a spin-off movie from the Borat segments we saw in his TV show, Da Ali G Show. In the short segment we had Borat, a TV journalist from Kazakhstan who is basically trying to understand the ways of American culture....

The Weinstein Company (TWC) and Rainmaker Entertainment announced today the all-star voice cast for Escape from Planet Earth which includes Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, Rob Corddry, James Gandolfini and Craig Robinson. The 3D animated family comedy is currently in full production. The announcement was made today by Donna Gigliotti, TWC’s President of Production, and Catherine Winder, President and Executive Producer, Rainmaker Entertainment. A planned Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum died in development hell before cameras could begin filming, and for years, it has very much seemed that the actor’s hopes of ever playing the X-Men superhero are dead in the water. However, given how Marvel movies have been making great use of the multiverse in recent films, the door is open to bring in Tatum’s Gambit anytime. Given that we saw Variants in Doctor Strange 2, Tatum’s Gambit could hypothetically appear in a Marvel movie without necessarily interfering with Marvel Studios’ plans to reboot the X-Men elsewhere in the MCU with a different cast....

Lionsgate, a leading global entertainment company, announced today that it has obtained worldwide rights to develop, produce and distribute films based on the award-winning, best-selling and critically acclaimed Chaos Walking young adult novel trilogy by Patrick Ness. The announcement was made by Lionsgate’s co-COO and Motion Picture Group President Joe Drake. Doug Davison (The Departed, How to Train Your Dragon, The Grudge) will be producing through his Quadrant Pictures. The Carnegie Medal winning books are set in a dystopian future with humans colonizing a distant earth-like planet....

Those feisty Chipmunks fought off an onslaught of new DVD’s to stay atop the DVD sales heap. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Alvin and the Chipmunks stayed put in the top spot on the DVD sales charts. It wasn’t easy work for the Chipmunks, though, as several new releases vied for the crown as well. Water Horse: Legend of the Deep just barely came up short in second place with the critically-acclaimed There Will Be Blood right behind in third....

Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi is a tough act to follow and will be even tougher to top. Not to be outdone by the likes of Netflix and Disney, Apple has just announced the launch date for its upcoming streaming service, as well as a highly competitive price point. During the recent Apple event, it was revealed that Apple TV+ will launch on November 1 and will cost $4.99 per month. Director Sam Raimi’s 1992 film, Army of Darkness is the third entry of the Evil Dead franchise, and the last to star Bruce Campbell in his iconic role of Ash Williams until the 2015 Starz series, Ash vs. Evil Dead. Arrow is going to die during the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. The CW and Warner Bros. Batman has a seasoned franchise with triumphant highs and turbulent lows.
