However, over the past few years, he’s been trying to keep a low profile. It’s very reminiscent of the very person he’s playing in his latest flick, George Reeves in Hollywoodland. Tony winner Bernadette Peters (Annie Get Your Gun,Song and Dance) and Josh Lucas (Glory Road, Poseidon) will guest-star on NBC’s Will & Grace (Thursdays, 8-8:30 p.m. ET) in the series’ next-to-last episode on May 11. Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop Loss) is in talks to direct the Carrie remake for MGM. We first reported on the project back in May, when screenrwriter/playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa signed on to write the script. It is said that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wants to write a new version of Carrie which is more faithful to Stephen King’s original book, and more grounded in reality. Stephen King himself spoke out about the project shortly after it was announced, saying he may be willing to get behind a remake....

Cartoon Network announced today it has completed production on Ben 10: Race Against Time, the live-action made-for-TV movie based on its hit animated action-adventure series about a young boy, who with the flick of a powerful alien wristwatch (The Omnitrix), can turn into 10 different aliens with amazing superpowers. Graham Phillips (Evan Almighty) stars in the coveted role of Ben Tennyson, a normal 10-year-old boy who is able to transform himself into a variety of super aliens like the powerful Heatblast or the beastly Wildmutt....

At first glance, the 2019 sci-fi/thriller film, The Wave, seems like just another movie about a ruthless insurance lawyer who is displeased with his wife and perhaps life and wants to seek some fun by hitting the bars with his friend and going on a drug bender. No morals or meaning to the story, just a man having a little too much fun that quickly escalates out of control. It’s a narrative that many people will relate to who wish they could live out a similar fantasy and indulge themselves the way that Frank (Justin Long) did in the film by shooting up on drugs....

20 Million Miles to Earth: 50th Anniversary Edition becomes the first classic monster film, as well as the first stop-motion animation classic and the first film by the legendary Ray Harryhausen to debut in the Blu-ray High-Def format when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases the fan favorite on December 4. In addition to the pristine, digitally-restored black & white original, the classic film will now be available in a recently colorized version personally supervised by Harryhausen....

Panasonic Corporation today announced collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and Lightstorm Entertainment on the global promotion of James Cameron’s Avatar. ABC Family has given a series order to the college-set drama, Greek and has renewed the drama, Lincoln Heights for a second season. The network has made an initial order of nine one-hour episodes, plus the pilot for Greek, notes The Hollywood Reporter; the drama focuses on college life and the Greek system as told from the point of view of freshman Rusty (Jacob Zachar). A geek in high school, Rusty is determined to make college more exciting and decides to join a fraternity, but he faces an obstacle in the form of his sister, Casey (Spencer Grammer), a sorority member who doesn’t want him to become part of her college world....

ABC is getting the man’s perspective with a male-based Supernanny spinoff, ordering episodes of Supermanny as a back-door pilot in the fall. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the spinoff’s format will remain similar to the original, with a child-development expert lending a family in crisis some tough-love guidance. However, instead of professional nanny Jo Frost leading the living room intervention, gruff Chicago child therapist Mike Ruggles will step in. “With a guy, he can connect with dads in a different kind of way,” executive producer Nick Emmerson said....
