If you want to see those heroes in a half-shell in live action again, you just may have gotten your wish. Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series confirmed on Heavy Metal that a new live-action Turtles film is being developed. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this potential new film as soon as more information comes to light. Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better “re-invention” (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT’s, in a live action film–like what was done with Batman....

Apple TV+’s announcement that Ted Lasso would be returning for a third, and seemingly final, season appeared to be an early Christmas present for fans of the sports-based series, but apparently it was just one part of their gift as the platform released a stop-motion animated short featuring the popular American college football coach. We have already seen Lasso in animated form like this before, in the opening credits of Ted Lasso Season 2 episode “Carol of the Bells,” and the new short is an expansion of that short sequence....

Bryan Singer has signed on to direct the pilot episode Battle Creek, which was given a straight-to-series order back in September. Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan wrote the pilot script with House creator David Shore, which follows Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI agent Milton Chamberlain, who have contrasting world views but team up to clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan. Vince Gilligan originally pitched the series to CBS back in 2002, although the network never ordered a pilot....

The Emmy push for Bob Odenkirk to be recognized has begun with some promotion on the Better Call Saul social media channels. This includes sharing a “For Your Consideration” image of Odenkirk’s Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill. AMC and the show’s producers are hoping to see Odenkirk nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who’s been keeping up with the Breaking Bad spinoff that would disagree....

Comedian and actor Brad Williams has his own ideas on how Disney should handle the dwarf characters in their upcoming Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remake. Recently, the film has been in the headlines after Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage criticized the concept. Dinklage says that it’s “f–king backwards” to remake that movie in live-action, reinforcing certain stereotypes that he had hoped would remain in the past. “I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White....

This month, Burger King will be introducing a new sandwich available for a limited time inspired by the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Called the Upside Down Whopper, the new burger is exactly as it sounds. While it will otherwise be a normal Whopper sandwich, this version will be served to customers upside down. Better yet, it will come with ’80s-style packaging to coincide with the setting of the Netflix series, even using the classic Burger King and Coke logos from the decade....

Prime Video and Blumhouse have unveiled the trailer for their upcoming psychological horror production, Nanny. Nanny, which is being described as a ‘psychological fable of horror’, stars Anna Diop as Aisha, who takes up a job as a nanny to Amy’s (Michelle Monaghan) child. The trailer establishes Aisha as an immigrant from Senegal who has left her son behind to eventually earn a pathway for him to join her in the States....

Alice Maio Mackay has premiered her first feature film, So Vam, a queer horror film. Aside from directing the movie, Mackay co-wrote it alongside Benjamin Pahl Robinson and served as producer. For the film’s release, Dread Central sat down with Mackay to discuss a wide range of topics, such as why stories like these are so important. The plot of So Vam follows Kurt (Xai), an outcast in his conservative town who dreams of moving to the big city to be a famous drag queen....

Fox’s highly-anticipated limited series 24: Live Another Day already has stars Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub confirmed to return as Jack Bauer and Chloe O’Brien, but there are still many more questions about the show that remain. During the TCA Summer Tour earlier this month, Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly revealed that the show will have an international setting. Executive producer Howard Gordon also talked about the format of the 12-episode series, and how it will still conform to the 24-hour model....

Press interviews can be mundane, as most actors are pretty much saying the same thing in different ways to every reporter. But once in a great while you get to interview some comedians who have a little fun and make an effort to mix it up. This was the case for 30 Minutes or Less. Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, and Nick Swardson were a riot. Probably causing quite a few headaches for editors with their antics....

The 2018 animated adventure, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, continues to be beloved by Spider-Man fans. It is regarded as not just one of the best Spider-Man films, but one of the best superhero films of all time. Fans are now hoping the 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will be just as good as the first. Time will tell whether it lives up to the hype, but if you like the Multiverse shenanigans of the first one, you’ll be pleased to know that that’s being dialed up to 11....

Legendary Pictures has halted production on Alex Proyas’ epic fantasy Paradise Lost, which recounts the battle between heaven and hell, based on the classic John Milton poem. Bradley Cooper is set to play Lucifer in the movie, while Benjamin Walker is taking on the role of archangel Michael, with Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle playing Adam and Eve. Paradise Lost hasn’t been completely scrapped. Legendary Pictures is currently in the process of reworking the script so that the budget comes in 10% to 15% less than the proposed $120 million it will take to get it off the ground....

It’s been two decades since Cage and Fish tried a case in court, but it seems like the Boston law firm is finally returning to primetime. Created by David E. Kelley, the Emmy-winning legal dramedy Ally McBeal starred Calista Flockhart in the title role. Per Deadline, the Brothers & Sisters actress is plotting her return to the courtroom with a sequel series, which is in early development at ABC. In addition to the rumored return of Flockhart as the show’s titular character, the revival will feature a new lead, “a young Black woman who joins the law firm from the original series (or its current incarnation) straight out of law school....

Andrew Lincoln has officially addressed his departure from The Walking Dead. The actor, who has played the show’s lead character, Rick Grimes, ever since the pilot episode aired in 2010, is set to leave the series during the events of the upcoming season 9. This was recently confirmed by Robert Kirkman, who is an executive producer on the show and created the Image Comics series that it’s based on. During the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Lincoln took the opportunity to confirm his exit and to share some thoughts on the matter....

Aspiring Hollywood star Joseph Baena has reportedly landed a spot as a contestant on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Per Deadline, Baena, the son of veteran actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, will appear in the show’s 31st season. The new season marks the first of the series to premiere on its new home at Disney+ after making the move from network television. A chip off the old block, Baena just so happens to look a lot like his father, and in some ways, he’s been following in his footsteps....

Fresh off their Tribeca Film Festival debut, Rebecca Chaiklin and Michael Skolnik and indie studio, Article 19 are starting off thier next project with a little Bling: A Planet Rock. The docudocu is working in association with cable network, VH1 and for the first time, The United Nations has put up a portion of the film’s budget; part of the proceeds will go to charity. Bling chronicles the diamond wars of Sierra Leone and how hip-hop’s ‘bling’ culture has unknowingly fueled such conflicts....

When news broke that Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall were leaving Doctor Who, it was only a matter of time before we would find out who the Fourteenth Doctor would be. Now, news has come from the BBC that new and returning showrunner, Russell T. Davies, has begun the casting process for the new Doctor. The Chibnall era has been divisive, with many fans upset about the casting of Whittaker as the Doctor....

So I’m not sure this is a review, but more of a negative critique of a film that could have been better if it just tried. Babel is filled with multiple story lines, hard acting, very multi-culturalism, but it’s missing something. And I’m still trying to figure out what that is. If you take one of the story lines away, of a girl in Japan, it could have been a better movie....
