The first time A Star Is Born hit the silver screen was way back in the year 1937. The early Technicolor film was directed by William A. Wellman and starred celebrated actress Janet Gaynor opposite Fredric March. The script had four writers, including Dorothy Parker and her husband and writing partner Alan Campbell. Unique for its time in that it showed a gritty Hollywood story rather than digging for source material elsewhere, the film got excellent reviews for its novel plot and stellar performances....

Hairspray director Adam Shankman is set to direct and choreograph an adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages for New Line Cinema. According to Variety, the musical’s creator, Chris D’Arienzo, scripted the movie adaptation. The musical tells of two people who meet at the Sunset Strip club Rock of Ages, fall in love and try to stay together amid'80s rock anthems made popular by Journey, Twisted Sister, Joan Jett, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar and other groups....

The Good An interesting movie about one of the best and worst time times in this country’s history. The Bad This movie played a little too over the top at times. Patrick Batemen (Christian Bale) has dreams of making money and he spends his days on Wall Street competing with other young and like minded people. He is completely detached and when he goes home at night he lives in a sprawling, expensive, high rise spot....

What are you going to remember from your time working on 24? Annie Wersching: Wow. So much. I would say the biggest thing is the cast and crew, and the friends that I’ve made, but I was an absolutely huge, huge fan of the show before I joined it, so just being a part of such an iconic show and getting to play a role as amazing as Renee Walker. I really, really loved this part, and in your career you hope that you have greater things in your future, but it’s hard for me not to, at this time, think of it as sort of a role of a lifetime because she was so dynamic....

The Good It continues the Archie Bunker character and these shows are very enjoyable. The Bad No extras explaining this show so fans of All In the Family can figure out it’s relationship to Archie Bunker’s Place. I met Archie Bunker’s Place - The Complete First Season with a mix of joy and confusion. I had long hard about this show but I didn’t understand how it fit in amongst the lexicon of the brilliant All In the Family....
