The actor spoke with ET at the premiere of his new film and discussed the experience of filming alongside so many NBA superstars. Unfortunately, his time playing with some NBA big shots didn’t last long. During filming, Sandler received an injury that took him out of the pick-up games for the remainder of filming....

Adam Sandler has signed on to develop and produce a feature-length adaptation of Bad Toys II, a popular short film that uses a combination of live-action and CGI animation elements. French animators Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste directed the short, an homage to Michael Bay’s Bad Boys II. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken is preparing a third Star Wars spoof. In this new installment C3PO voice talent Anthony Daniels has joined the cast, as has Zac Efron. Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III will lampoon George Lucas’ iconic universe. “We’re telling more of a linear story this time that covers the series from start to finish,” said Chicken co-creator Seth Green. In addition to Daniels and Zac Efron, Donald Glover (Community) and Mike Henry (The Cleveland Show) will also make their first Robot Chicken appearances....

There has been a lot of speculation about the release of DCEU movie Batgirl, which seemed to be heading directly to streaming despite all other Warner Bros. DC movies now being slated for cinematic releases. It looks now like Warner Bros. has updated their schedule to give Batgirl a theatrical release after all. However, it only seems to apply to the U.K. release of the movie and not the U.S. one....

Battle: Los Angeles is a better than expected actioner in the tired alien-invasion genre. The dialogue is subpar and wanting, but is adequately compensated by the gripping action scenes. It’s like Black Hawk Down, but instead of fighting Al Qaeda on the streets of Mogadishu; the Marines are in fierce, house to house combat, against an alien horde. Director Jonathan Liebesman does an excellent job of immersing the audience in combat....

Fox Broadcasting Company (Fox) has given a pilot production commitment to The Middle Man, a new drama produced by Fox and Pearl Street Films, and executive-produced by Academy Award winner Ben Affleck and Emmy Award nominee Glenn Gordon Caron (Medium, Moonlighting), who wrote the pilot script. Ben Affleck is attached to direct the pilot. Pearl Street Films’ Chay Carter will also serve as an executive producer on the project. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2014....
