Fox Broadcasting Company and 20th Century Fox Film are teaming up to present the first-ever live television commercial for a feature film during A Christmas Story: Live. Holiday tentpole The Greatest Showman will debut a live, two-and-a-half minute commercial during the network’s upcoming three-hour live musical event, A Christmas Story: Live, airing Sunday, Dec. 17 (7:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Originally released in November 2022, The Menu follows Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) as they attend an exclusive restaurant experience on a private island. An enigmatic chef, played by Ralph Fiennes, runs the restaurant, known for his theatrical yet frightening presentation style. The big twist begins when the pace of each of the courses becomes violent and disturbing. To stay safe during dinner, guests must follow the chef’s rules in an evening filled with horror....

20th Century Fox’s adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is currently in casting mode, with such actors as Adrien Brody, Timothy Olyphant and Josh Lucas said to be screen testing for the lead role. Other actors such as Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster), Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers) and James D’Arcy (An American Haunting) are also taking part in this series of screen tests. Timur Bekmambetov is producing and directing the adaptation for Fox, which Seth Grahame-Smith adapted from his own novel....

The After series is best known as a One Direction fan fiction that gained enough traction on Wattpad to turn into a New York Times-bestselling series, complete with film adaptations. The series follows the story of Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin), two college students that are in what can be described as an unhealthy relationship at best. Eleventh Hour Films has teamed up with ITV for a new action TV series based on Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider novels. The character was previously adapted for the big screen with the 2006 feature film Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker, with Alex Pettyfer starring as the title character. It wasn’t revealed if there are any specific books this TV series will be based on, but the news comes just as author Anthony Horowitz releases the 11th book in his series, Never Say Die, debuting June 1 in the U....

The Good I am constantly amazed by how much more information animation can convey in a half hour as opposed to a live action show. Following last month’s announcement that Turn: Washington’s Spies will kick off Season 2 on a new night and time on Monday, April 13 at 9 PM ET on AMC, the cable network has released a trailer with all new footage. An AMC Studios production, Turn: Washington’s Spies stars Jamie Bell (Flags of Our Fathers, Snowpiercer, the upcoming Fantastic Four) as Abraham Woodhull, a farmer living in British-occupied Long Island during the Revolutionary War, who bands together with a disparate group of childhood friends to form the Culper Ring - America’s first spy ring....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, WB Network has given a put pilot commitment to a live-action rendering of the DC Comics character Aquaman from Smallville executive producers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough and Warner Bros. Television. The project is envisioned as a contemporary reinterpretation of the character who lives in the deep sea and enlists sharks and other oceanic creatures to help him in his crime-fighting endeavors. Millar and Gough have deftly handled the same chores for WB and WBTV during the past five seasons of Smallville, which tells the story of Clark Kent’s teenage years and his coming-of-age as Superman....

Could 3-D be coming to a living room near you? According to The Hollywood Reporter, dismiss what you have previously seen in films like Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (not that it was bad), but with stereoscopic 3-D being bandied about for movie theaters, home theater enthusiasts might soon get another viewing option. “We will have 3-D in the home, definitely,” offered Chris Cookson, president of Warner Bros. Technical Operations and chief technology officer for the Warner Bros....

In the 1980s and 90s, one of Hollywood’s most notable feuds was between action genre superstars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. With each hoping to best the other with their box office performances with a natural feud that persisted for years, Stallone and Schwarzenegger were at odds until eventually coming together to co-star in The Expendables franchise, among other films. But during the quarrel, Schwarzenegger was able to get one over on Stallone by tricking his rival into accepting a role in a film that was certain to go down in flames....

Arthur Laurents has announced that he will no longer turn the Broadway musical Gypsy into film. Barbra Streisand was eyeing the role of Mama Rose, as was announced back in January. Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents are co-writers of the original 1959 musical. Recently, Stephen Sondheim asked Arthur Laurents why he wanted the film project: “He said, ‘What is the point of it?’ And I said, ‘They have this terrible version with Rosalind Russell wearing those black and white shoes....

Quentin Tarantino is an American filmmaker most known for his dark humor, unique storylines, excessive profanity, and use of gratuitous, stylized violence. Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul picked up some gold at the Saturn Awards ahead of the show’s sixth and final season. Disney XD’s animated Big Hero 6: The Series is set to launch Monday, November 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), with a one-hour primetime television movie, Baymax Returns, simultaneously on Disney XD and Disney Channel, and available on the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD VOD. Immediately following the TV movie, two special full-length preview episodes of Big Hero 6 The Series will debut exclusively on the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD VOD. “Pocket Baymax,” a customizable, interactive virtual assistant which brings Baymax to life, launches on DisneyNOW that same day....

The CW Network’s Black Lightning, an electrifying new superhero, will make his debut on Tuesday, January 16 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT), following a new episode of The Flash (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT). Black Lightning will be airing during the current time slot filled by DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will return with new episodes on a new night and time in February. The series premiere date for Life Sentence, and the season premiere dates of The 100, The Originals and iZombie will be announced later....
