Mike Myers Created The Pentaverate
Netflix
Mike Myers created the series with Tim Kirkby serving as director. Both Myers and Kirkby also executive produced with John Lyons, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns for Jax Media, as well as Jason Weinberg. You can read the official synopsis for The Pentaverate below.
Myers might be at home playing multiple characters in one film. After all, fans saw him playing both the protagonist and antagonist in the Austin Powers movies. Be that as it may, playing eight different characters in one story is new for the actor, but it’s good news for Myers fans who just can’t seem to get enough. For his co-star Ken Jeong, working with Myers on the project was like a dream come true.
“What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347? As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!”
“Working on The Pentaverate was a career highlight for me because Mike Myers is not only a friend now, but he is really one of my comedy inspirations,” Ken Jeong said of working on the series, per Looper. “One of the reasons why I do comedy at all is because of Mike, and a lot of comedic actors would say the same thing.”
The Pentaverate premieres on May 5, 2022. You can stream the series on Netflix.
